Okay, I got married almost a year ago now, and my wife still has some debt incurred well before we were married. She has no job, and no form of income. Am I liable for that debt? I live in Michigan, I may move to Wisconsin soon, so the answer for both states could be important. These debts are unsecured (one might possibly be secured on a computer, does any one know if a computer purchased from Dell can be repossessed?) Everyone here has been wonderful help so far, thanks for anything further.

I have tried to get debt consolidatation loan. but was denied because of my income. Would I be able to get help?

I plan to go to my bank and present them with this in attempts of getting a loan. I would like you all to answer with either "Yes, you will most likely get it" or "No, it is not possible". I am in about $75,000 in CC debt. No late payments but I am unable to get by each month w/oout going slightly more in debt as debt is higher than income. If I go the consolidation route it seems that things will not really get better. If I understand consolidation only lumps payments into one payment and reduced late fees, etc. Since I have not been late there is nothing to reduce. Would consolidation drop all my CC's to zero interest or something? If not that option seems pointless to me. Settlement also seems like not much better than BK.

Who do you recommend to begin a debt consolidation process with? I believe this will be the best way to go, but I want a reputable and helpful company to work with.

I purchase a vehicle from a dealership this was a used truck. I gave them 3 checks totaling 2,000 the first check was cashed now the second check there was a major screw up in my checking account so I needed to stop payment on a couple checks including one of these the second payment. I do not have the money at this moment because the screw up in my checking account took most of the money. What could happen anyone know I had planned on making arrangments and was going to send them some of the money any suggestions?
