i have a small (compared to most peoples) student loan, and then a pretty big car loan, and an old medical bill, that to my understanding was supposed to have been taken care of, but oh well. I would just like some help to manage my payments, so I can pay back what I owe, but the high interest rate of my car payment is working me over pretty good to where I can rarely even afford to make payments on the other two items, so I haven't even tried. I'm just looking for someone out there to help me stay afloat before my credit is ruined forever.

Hi All, I have taken a look at a number of posts and topics on this site and I think this might be the place where I can get some compentent answers. In 1998-2000 I ran up some credit card debt on two seperate cards (B of A, Citibank). Both accounts were closed in the fall of 2000 and some payments were made until then. Last open balance was: Bank of America - approx. 4,400.00 Citibank - approx. 1,900.00 At that time I had moved to Austria - where I am still living. Now it has been over 6 years and I went through a lot of personal problems and was unable to continue payments.

Multiple people Academy Collection Service keep calling my number and leave messages with a call-back number in my voice mail for about a month. I called back once when I received their first call and a lady from ACS received my call. She (and also all messages in my voice mail) even couldn't get my name right (only know half of my first name), but she wanted me to provide my social security number ! I certainly can't give to them. Then, the lady said bye-bye.

Hi everyone. I have recently settled a credit card debt for about half the original amount owed. The credit card company told me I would have to pay taxes on the amount that was forgiven; that it was considered income. Does anyone know if this is true, or anything about this? Thank you, Jen
