I sent allied interstate a letter certified mail making a request for debt validation on 7-24. Three days later, I received a reponse by mail from Allied Interstate stating that they requested the proper documentation from their client, the US dept of Education. The letter also included the contact information of the primary representative who was handeling my account. I figured all was good and my letter was effective in reaching the right people. But that changed quickly. Today,I received another letter from Allied Interstate stating that they could not locate my account.

Hello, I appreciate this opportunity for advice. I have been having ongoing financial difficulties, and have not been able to make payments on various debts I owe since October of last year. I've been trying to start earning enough to pay the various debts myself, but without much success; now, almost all of my creditors have turned over my three unsecured loans to attorneys for collection... I can't pay the amounts that they want me to pay them, and I *do* want to pay back my debts! I just don't know how I am supposed to.

When we went into Code Red Wednesday, I found this board and started lurking, looking for advise on how to proceed over the next ten days. Now the big one has dropped and I really could use some advice! My wife provides the only support of the household. She has trusted me to pay our bills, including three credit cards. For whatever reason, I stopped paying the 3 credit cards a few months ago and then ignorned the calls/letters. I took court papers for her and that money is due a week from Friday.

Just looking at my credit report and there are several charged off accounts. Would it be wise and beneficial to call some of the original creditors and try to pay them off? Or once they are charged off, is it over with. They are a few with small balances that i could take of very quickly. And then go after the big ones. Any advice is appreciated.

So i am currently enrolled in Lawgistix with several accounts listed in the program. I am paying them $450.00 a month and after reading some things on here, i am worried that i am wasting my money and could probably do better myself. Heck, i have received settlement offers through the mail for 50% on some accounts from outside collection agencies. I am just looking for advice. I thought Lawgistix was my best option, but now i am beginning to wonder. I just dont want to continue to throw away $450 a month if i am not going to benefit from it.
