I owe over 10,ooo dollars to student loans, about another 15,000 between old credit cards and medical and i recieve child support maybe 2 months out of the year. I have to feed and clothe my child, maintain my house,car payment,and basic utilities; and that alone takes 95% of my income. I also can not go back to school because I don't qualify for grants because of the student loans. I don't know what to do anymore.I am afraid i will lose my house and that my paychecks will be garnished for the student loans. I that happens, i will lose everything.

Does a debt that goes into a 3rd party CA affect the SOL or anything. I was just wondering since most of my Debts are going on its 3rd year for some of them since the original creditor charged off the debt (according to my credit report) and as far as I know the SOL for CC debt in my state of Maryland is 3 years so I am wondering if I may have some opinions coming that I didn't have or am I out of luck still. Luckly one of my biggest Debts is nearly paid off, will be paid completely off in Sept., so I am making head way with my old College debts.

Well...Success....it took 3 emalings and a counter offer on my part of just marking the account paid in full but finally I heard back from Rio Resources, here was their reply to my 3rd email. xxxxxxxx We have reviewed your most recent correspondence. While we still believe that all terms and conditions of the loan have been met on our end, we have found it in the best interest of both parties in reaching an amicable resolution to accept your counter-offer and write off your remaining balance.

Currently my husband and I together are $10,000 in debt and we are trying to pay off the credit cards but the interest rate on all of them is too high and I never am able to bring the amount down. It is very frustrating. I am interested in consolidating to bring the rates down and the monthly payment down. I also, know that our credit scores are low and really want to get them up and have a good credit.

Can I contact the current Creditor (in my case also LVNV Funding, through the debt collection agency used to contact me or do I need to write them a seperate cease and desist letter?

Their fax number is 1-800-454-6328. Now keep in mind, their website states that they are completely paperless and they communicate only through email, or calling their 800 number.

Okay, I recieved "paid in full" status on both of these loans, and I paid about $400 over in total even if I include a fee and one late fee. Should I continue to ask for a refund or just let it go?
