i defaulted on a $200.00 payday loan, and have been making payments for about 6 months now. due to financial problems i was unable to make a payment this month, and am being threatened with criminal prosecution for passing a bad check. can they do that? i live in ohio, stark county.

I want to get out of Detb SOOOOO BAAADDD!! I have tried debt consolidation before but it seemed they were takingmore money from then I was earning. I am a single Mom with 1 Income and cannot seem to come out ahead. Any advice????

how do i know what the pdl companys can do in reference to the laws in this state. I think it is illegal in ct. please help me to understand

I'm in debt for about 4K in credit cards and the same in PDLs. I filed CH. 7 in '04, all was going well until a death in the family and moving to another residence. As a result, I resorted to the Pay Day loans and credit cards. Not just any cards, but the ones where the limit is $250, but the initial usage is only $75 dollars. This all happened very fast, from June '05 to Dec. '05, I was swimming in debt that I had not planned on. I still shake my head knowing that I should be 8K in the black vs. being in the red. I have defaulted on most of the PDLs. A couple have gone to collection.

OK my health has gone completely down the drain...I have diabeties and it has progressively gotten worse to where i know have diabetic nueropathy....To where it is very difficult for me to walk so therefore i can work...I am going on disability and i know im collector proof but i was to pay off the debt i owe to people so if you could help that would be awesome.....Grant Bacal

I want to pay my debts but I don't know how to go by doing it with my salary. I need a plan and I am willing to stick with until the matters are all cleared. Will you help me?

I was trying to get current on all of my bills and was unable to obtain a loan at a bank. I ended up getting three payday loans online for 300-350 each, and one storefront installment payday loan for $1000. I have to pay $1600 on the installment payday loan, which comes to $210 a pay for eight pays. The other three loans I am paying $90 each (every pay). This comes to approx. $500/pay. I am now behind on my utilities, mortgage, insurance, etc. I have renewed three times on the small payday loans, and have only made one payment on the storefront loan. All are current.

I received a letter from Encore claiming they were representing Capitla One about an MBNA account that they claimed to now have. Encore never had it. Capitol One never had it. Encore lied. Doesn' t our government in Washington ever go after these people who prey on the general population. They are involved in fraud and identity theft but because they are a big corporation who make political campaign donations and have lobbyists and special interest groups, nothing is ever done to these people. Where does this leave the people who are constantly threatened and harassed by these people?
