How can a be sure you will not rip me off

I recently got a letter from midland credit management on a debt we supposedly incurred via AT&T five years ago. This was a clerical error we believe, as we were able to dig up records of checks that were cashed by AT&T which reflect three months of payments which they claimed they never recieved. TransUnion says they can not accept the proof that we sent and will verify the charge with the collection agency. Which I gues is standard process.

I know how easy it is for the CAs to get all other personal info but can they get your cell phone numbers as easily?

i have 3 payday loans of 600 each I have been paying on them for 1 year 400 per month of interest. I cant see to ever have money to pay them off. what happens if i dont pay them and then just start making payments? Will I go to jail? I live in Houston TX

My husband lost his job in august 2005 and wasnt working for a month and half so I was trying to pay the bills but of course it wasnt enough, thats where our problems started. He found a job but we were still struggling with back payments. Then he found a better job but that job turned out to be bad really bad. His boss refused to pay him for hours he had worked so my husband of course wasnt happy with that and his boss told "then clean out your truck and find a ride home" (we live about two hours from his boss's office). so he has been out of job for a month and half.

Hey everyone! We just received a letter from this place that is suing the a collection company for violating the fdcpa. A while back I posted about this program and was wondering if they actually were a part of the DA's office or not. It looks like it might not be but I'm not sure.
