When Creditors Don't Respond

19 years 2 months ago
New Question: If I personally wrote some creditors requesting verification of original debts and I get a return receipt back in the mail, but I never get a written response from them-what happens? How do I then let the credit bureaus know that 30 days has past and I have not heard from them? Do I have to mail the credit bureaus copies of the return receipt cards? Even so, how does that prove they have not written me back?

500 Fast Cash

As soon as I walk through the my front door today, my father in law hands my husband a msg that a "Nelson" called and told him that he had a "hot check" and would he give the msg to my husband. So he did. My husband calls him and this guy "Nelson" says that my husband bounced a check with his payday loan company and then begins to tell my husband his social security #, date of birth, etc. in order to verify that my husband did take out the payday loan online from his company back in July 2005.

Pay it off VS Fight it VS Let it Age Off?

19 years 2 months ago
Hi All, I have had some success in the past two months (and have actually enjoyed) repairing my credit report. I have disputed several items that were older than 7 years or were duplicates and got them removed. I have a couple of pesky ones left that aren't as old.

I've been Paying all Along; Debt sent to Lawyer for Suit.

19 years 2 months ago
I have been reading the posts in here and I'm totally confused about my situation. Bank of America has sent my account to a lawyer because they say I'm in default. I have been paying them $80.00 a month on a $3991 balance and they send me a bill every month. I have 15 consecutive months of proof from my bank. I can't afford to pay them the 1600 dollar minimum payment they want, but I have sent them three letters asking them to please negotiate a more affordable option so I won't be considered in default.

How to check scores for improvement without them dropping?

19 years 2 months ago
I'm working on cleaning up some items on my report that are incorrect, and I'd like to check my new scores, but I'm afraid each time I do that, my score will go down. I had student loans that I'm told were being removed...but when I had my mortgage guy pull my credit again, they weren't gone, and him checking dinged my #. Is there any way to monitor my progress without affecting my score? I'd like to be confident that they have improved before applying for things again. Ideas?
