I am so excited i found this website. I was so lost in my pdl debt i didn't know what to do or who to turn to. I prayed for a solution and did a websearch and ended up on this site. This site has great wisdom for those of us that want to change our ways and be free from our debt. Please everyone dont take the info and run. Stay and share and help and encourage others. So...finally heard from the collection agency handling my Platinum B loan...the infamous United Federal Bank. Very rude...and breaking federal collection laws left and right. They picked the wrong chickie to screw with too: I'm an attorney and know the laws and my rights :)! Called I-collect and finally heard from them last week...told me who was handling my account and gave me a phone/extension to call. Left several messages, but never heard a thing back.

Okay, does anyone know if they accept you on a debt consolidation program or not??? I've had this account for a while--the interest rate is high and the balance is actually higher now than what it was when I first took the loan out about five years ago. I was in debt consolidation a few years ago and had them on it. Now since going back into debt consolidation, I have put them on the program again. I was a little behind, one payment behind and getting close to the second one being due.

This shows as an inquiry in my credit report with Equifax last june. Anyone have any ideas who this may have been?

OK so now that I have this 3 in 1 credit monitoring, I notice that NCO (and their subsidiaries) have spent a lot of time in the last year looking at my credit reports from all three bureaus, but they haven't contacted me about anything and they haven't reported anything. Why would a collection pull 7 credit reports from three bureaus in two months and not seem to do anything with it??

Does anyone know the address and email address for Discount Advances? I got their phone and fax number from their website, but can't find their address or a link to an email address. Thanks!

I found this site and it's been helpful, but I have a question. I got a call from a CA, (and haven't called them back because I wanted to ask some questions here first)and I think I know what they are calling about, and it's about a debt that goes back to 1992 or 93. Now here's my question: How should I deal with the CA, should I ask for a date on last payment and say the the debt is to old and stop calling or ask for a validation letter and reply ? Any info and suggestion are greatly appreciated.

I have a question about sol bck in July of 1995 my husband did a voluntary reposession of a car he had bought from key bank they came back saying he owed more now then when he turned the car into them several years ago they listed it as a charge off on the credit reports but sold it to another company it has since been sold to several other collections companies and each one of them has added there own fees to the amount and are still trying to cllect on it does the sol start when they last activity takes place on the account or does it start over every time they rsel the account any hep would
