Good to see more states attacking the payday loan companies. Some VA legislators tried to get tougher laws on the books in Feb, but it wasn't passed. I'm waiting to see what happens in NM, with the PDL companies suing the state AG.

It never ceases to amaze me that if you r a p e someone you pay the price in jail for about 3 years, but if your late on a payment you pay the price for 7-10 years. I just recieved my three credit reports (again), but this time I got my scores.... 492, 522, 530 .. I know they suck! I sent letters to my creditors in Feb requesting settlements and complete deletion... I am hitting a brick wall ... most will not work with me and those who will accept a settlement won't delete the account. I need assistance on what I should do .. I don't want to file BK ..

Does anyone know of a good place to order my three reports and score, with a credit monitoring program? I have looked at some, but wanted to know if anyone has anyone they would like to suggest.... I need a low cost too .... Thanks

I have two accts on my credit report that were included in bankruptcy, discharged in 1999. The creditor was still reporting them as delinquent in 2005! And there is another one, that the same acct is listed under the original creditor and by a collection agency. Do I dispute one of these listings? Dana

Ok everyone- here goes everything. I filed with Equifax on line and started investigations on several collection accounts I was not aware of and this is the result: 1- WE HAVE SEARCHED THE COLLECTION ACCOUNT.

Hi, I'm new here and have found sooo much helpful information! I was/am in the payday bind like so many others are/were and was swamped with the fees that my entire paycheck went to. Well, I was tired of paying all the fees and decided that I would close my account and open a new one and let the pdl's go into default and then try and pay them off. I contacted T&C (thanks to you all here at the boards) and advised them that I needed to consolidate my PDL's. They were great to work with and I've sent them my retainer fee. What I need to know is...

I am trying to pay off a couple of payday loans, but I have absolutely no contact information to contact the loan companies and pay them off. One appears as SJM Marketing Fee on my bank statement and the other appears as E-Payday Fee. I contacted one company called E-Payday and I'm not even in their system, so there must be another one. I really want to get these loans paid off. I need contact info!!!!

Company/Individual reported: Crditcure and the law office of Richard A. Brennan have taken my money $1500, and done nothing in return. THEY ARE THIEVES. Many people on this site have had a bad experience with them-BEWARE.

In Canada, collectors and skip tracers have to be registered and licensed to practice their profession. If a collector is found not to be registered, their company can be severely fined. The collector can also civilly charged as well. Collection companies have to be registered, if they are not, severe fines and dissolution of business can happen.
