I had to close a bank account because of identity theft. There was over $1300 in NSF fees that snowballed because of the fraudulent activity. Meanwhile, while this was happening, my direct deposit when in to my account and it was totally wiped out. I spoke with a lady with the bank and she took care of all of the NSF fees, so I am not responsible, but I have yet to receive my deposit back. I keep getting told that there is not enough paperwork. ???? They can get rid of $1300 in fees, but cannot get back my deposit? I don't know what to do. I am the only one in my family that works.

Is there any websiter you can get a free credit report with all three companies and your credit score without having to use a credit card? I have one credit card my check card from the bank and I don't want to use it for this. Is there any free and I mean free credit reports you can get on the web without credit cards?

I am FINALLY going to get out of the payday loan trap FOR GOOD!!! Did a payoff of some last year, but never totally broke the cycle. This is it!! I have moved my direct deposit to a second checking account and closed my bank account at Bank of America today. It will be closed permanently as of midnight! I am going to send the retainer fee to T&C when I get paid on Friday.

When I'm sending a validation letter, should I ask for proof that the collection agency is licensed in my state? I thought I read somewhere that collection agencies must be licensed in the state they are attempting to collect the debt in. Also, do I go into detail? I received a letter from a collection agency today, for an old Blair account. I had called them repeatedly because they didn't credit a $195 ring back to the acct. Then I said fine, I won't make another payment until you remove the charge.

I sent a letter to the Carson City AG office about a week ago. While I was out in Wisconsin attending to a family emergency, He called and asked for more information. Surprisingly he stated that the problem with the company I complained about was that they had a license to do business but this was taken away some months ago for bad business practices. I received a letter from the AG that was a copy of the one sent to the company.

Last night in chat I mentioned that when PAA went to take my final payment, they took an extra $60 from my account.

I viewed my credit report (all 3) from annualcreditreport.com. I am so mad at myself, because I didn't print it. Now it won't let me in to see it again. Is there another site where I can get my credit report for free? Maybe a site that you get your report if you sign up for something (then cancel after the trial period is up?) Any sites that give you all three? Thanks!
