i have been paying you all every danm month for months and now you send me my check back saying it is no longer in your account it has been closed, so im assuming that my debt it paid in full,,,,,do not call me again or hassel my family as you have been doing for months............we are done you have cost me 20.00 as it is gone cant get back that money order but i will keep it to have where i paid you,,,,,,,,,,you will be hearing from my attorney

Does anyone know anything about an organization called "Union Workers Credit Services"? I got an unsolicited letter from them stating that my husband qualifies automatically for a "guaranteed" Platinum card from them. I think it's fishy because there is no bank affiliation, the letter states "guaranteed $10,000 credit limit and no bank affiliation". There is a one time $37 fee and it just smells fishy. Any info. would help. And BTW...our credit is nowhere near being platinum worthy!

Is there anywhere I can find some guidelines on collection agencies? I need to know how many times an agency can call in a week, if their is any guidelines, and can they put your number in an automated caller so they even call more than once a day?

I got a letter in the mail stating that I owed a creditor $4000 and they would accept settlement of $1500. I didn't know what this was about so I called the phone #. The guy I spoke with said that it was an old charged off account from 1995-6. He didn't have any more info and told me that he would research it. He gave me his # and asked me to call him back next week. Now, I'm not sure about this debt, its not even on my credit report. What should I do to verify/pay?

Hi Everyone, I have about $12000 worth of debt. I have a couple of cards with a balance, personal loans, car payments ,and a couple of medical bills. I just had a baby seven months ago and am not able to work. My husband takes care of the house payment, utilites, food, and etc...With his income we can't afford to pay on my debt. Collectors are calling continuously demanding their money and I keep having to tell them I don't have it. Fortunately my mother decided to buy a new car this weekend and gave me her old one. It is in good shape and runs perfectly.

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site and had a question on debt collector's calling my parent's house. I don't live there and they keep calling everyday. My parents have even told them time and time again to stop calling because I don't live there. I don't have a clue how to handle this...Are they allowed to call there? If not then how can I stop it? Until I found this site I thought we were alone in this problem. We waded through our debt, hiding it from family and friends because we were ashamed. We have great jobs, we made great money, why were we always broke? My parents even held an intervention, they thought we were on drugs because we never had any money!! I never understood that there were so many people in the same boat as we were with these payday loans. It just makes me ask one question........Why Are They Still Legal???

I got the info for T&C last week, but we were going to pay one more renew fee and get it set up for next payday. Low and behold.... My work comp check doesn't come on time!! We called yesterday and got the paperwork faxed in today. We are faxing them back out tomorrow with a western union of our first payday. All the checks are due tomorrow and we can't close our checking account until the mortgage check clears, probably monday. Can you say STRESS!!! On a happy note, I didn't realize that they pay off the checks and then you pay them..
