There is this attorney that has taken over for a collection agency. He sent info concerning my bill in my name but in care of my employer.Does that give my employer the right to open my mail? Then this lawyer sent the same information to an attorney I used years ago when I was 21. I am now 28. A girl I went to school with works there and was the one to open the letter. They responded to the court that they havent represented me for years. Then the court sent another document to my employer in my name in care of my employer. Is this legal and what are my options?

I have sent out validation letters but I have read postings from many others here who have done so also. Do they legally have to respond to the debt verification letters or not?

First I would like to say that since I have found this forum I feel so empowered. Now, truthfully, I have been in this vicious payday loan cycle since mid 2003. I started off with a loan from quickpayday. Then I found sonicpayday. Slowly but surely, it snowballed from there. I began to borrow more and more to keep up with the interest payments on my payday loans. Almost two weeks ago I found this forum while searching for ANOTHER loan to pay my huge mountain of interest payments coming up on March 31st.

We are getting bad credit notices from a company listed on the credit report as GEMB/CARE CREDIT CORE in Kettering Ohio. Do you have a direct phone number for this company? thanks

Just went online to see my bank account status. It is closed. The last entry was on 3/20/06 and it says 03/20/06 'negative banlance charge off'. Since they are calling it a charge off, does that mean they are not going to try to collect it from me? (I hope)

Long time listener first time caller ... lol.. anyways. On or about September 10th 2005 I looked into the possibility of getitng a payday loan to cover a debt that I had not counted on and had to be paid immediately. I went through the 100s of payday loans available on the internet and chose Cash Today Limited BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE. At the last minute I changed my mind and called them.. after 30 minutes of trying they answered and said ok. They then deposited 200$ into my account and took it back out 3 days later. I have my bank statements to show this.

I called them cause i was so mad about this scam i told them i was going to pay but needed their address to overnight a payment. Alex Devine came back to the phone to say they could not take overnight payments and that i should pay platinum b, but yesterday he said that i could only pay him. And when i caught him in this lie he gave me over to some guy named Carmichael and said any complaint filed against them would be slander.

These people are driving me bananas. I owe on a T-mobile account with these people. I have set up payment arrangements. They WILL NOT QUIT CALLING ME! They've told me twice they're removing me from the computer, but they keep calling. I've talked to them twice today, and they've called 4 times. I'm losing my patience with these people. Lets take into consideration that these people are conducting fraudulent activity for collecting accounts that have been paid, are being paid or are not accounts that the people have even opened themselves. I found the FTC, the Police, Attorney General for their state ( which is Florida, Jacksonville area not Wyoming) and several attorneys very helpful. First and foremost if you sent them a payment by mail call your bank and cancel the check, if you sent it by wire call the company you sent it through and complain.
