I was reading a statement about making sure the creditors put PAID or UNRATED on your score. If they put SETTLED then you are hurting. Why would they put that on there to begin with. I had to join a debt consolidation because of a tempory problem and now it is fixed. I am ready to pay off the debts I have enrolled in the D/C company. Do I need to call each creditor and make sure they are going to put a PAID or UNRATED on my accounts or what do I do? HELP :( James

Ok if you have a phone with a intercom button this works great but you can still do it without one...Ok.... 1. If the caller calls and asks for you. Say please hold. Push the Intercom button.. 2. Now the tone has changed and they can notice the change in speaking...Tell them they are being recorded for Better Business B. Or Federal Commissions Dept and ask them to state their Name and Business in Calling... 3. They usually hang up they do not want to be recorded... each time I have done this..They say..Mr._____.

I am waiting on this dell situation to surface from an email sent yesterday and a certified letter sent on monday. But I was thinking tonight that if I don't get results this time, I may go ahead and report this whole mess to the FTC, BBB and state attorney generals office (your state or the state the creditor is in??) I think sometimes people are afraid to report because of making the creditor mad. Like say, whats to stop them from sueing me after I report them? Then again, if the 'right' person hears what all I've been through, this entire thing could be dropped?

Okay, first of all, are these guys actually attorneys?!?! I got a letter from them a couple months ago, saying they were collecting a debt for CACH...I sent a validation letter 2 days after I got their letter....never recieved a thing. Then I gave the account to the attorney handling my settlements. Now today I get a letter from these jerks who ignore my validation letter, and the fact that this account is with an attorney. So, I guess I will be calling the attorney tomorrow, but that is so annoying. They flat-out ignore the law...and they are supposed to be lawyers!!
