I first got a call last year about a payday loan being taken out in my name, under my SS#. I had to ask what a PDL was because I didn't even know what it was at the time. Needless to say, I was not the one who had taken out the loan. I have been trying to resolve this issue of identity theft even since. National Credit Adjusters was one of the adverse accounts on my credit report, which has since been removed. I called NCA to find out if the issue was resolved and how/why and was told that the 2 loans were sold to other debt collections agencies.

I offered to settle the loan for 120 dollars (I took out 100) and they told me that I am manipulating the process by taking out payday loans and then only paying back the principle (I have taken care of 4 other loans so far) and said they will only accept 740 dollars or they will take it to court. I live in NY so can they even do that?

I know that Nevada is pretty lax when it comes to payday loan laws, but companies like Western Sky, Paydayloanyes etc still need to be licensed in the state of Nevada to lend right?

I keep getting a phone call from a gentleman saying his name is Derrick Anderson. He is sounds as if he is of Indian decent. Says that I was being sued by a payday loan company, and that I had three options to reply to his threat. 1st off pay him $498 and it would all go away. 2nd get an attorney and show up in court (where I have no idea), or third let it go and pay $5000-$6000 in fines and up to 90 days in jail. I have looked up his number along with the loan company that he says my unpaid loan is from and both come up as a scam.

How do I get started with this? I have three payday loans and am behind on two.

I have been reading posts and noticed that payday loan companies threaten a lot but not no person have mentioned actually being sued or have their wages garnished. Do these companies just fade away after we write letters to them? My loan is Zip 19. I used a model letter from this site revoking all and giving them five days to respond. That was over a week ago. N contact has been made to my references or my employer (who by the wAy gives no information regarding me or any employee without my permission) Has anyone been successful at getting these scumbags off their backs?

I'm sending out my letter to cash call today! I got a $1500 loan through western sky, only received $1000, loan transferred to cash call etc. To date, I have paid $1861.20. I'm not paying another cent! I was still paying because I was worried about reporting to my credit, but I will fight tooth and nail to get the loan off the two agencies they are reporting to!
