experiences with asking for validation

19 years 11 months ago
okay, I asked this before but didn't get much of a response. I got to thinking about it again and thought it to be interesting conversation. Has anyone here, ever actually got full validation from a collection agency once asked? I have asked for it on a few accounts. One agency wrote back and said that they're working on it and it could take up to 90 days. --okay, guess thats something-- Another, Encore, has ignored me thus far. Not another word out of them once I asked for it but yet original creditor tells me to talk to encore.

Proper documentation for use in court

19 years 11 months ago
As I read and post in these forums, I find alot of discussion on taking CA's to court, holding them responsible for what they have done. I was thinking, what if one (or several) of us do that, what do we need to succeed. After much thought and using my personal and professional experiences, here are some things to to. First of all remember that in a civil court, a decision (verdict) is baded on a preponderance of the evidence.

medical bill on report

19 years 11 months ago
okay first off---DING DING DING--500 posts (and still going)!!! GO ME!!!!!!!!!!! LOL This is something different even for me. Husband has a collection agency on his report (Equifax only) that is for a medical bill of $55. I sat down last week and wrote them because to me, $55 is not worth it being a bad mark on your report over. I didn't ask for validation. I just asked was the debt still for $55 and stated that I wanted for them to agree, before me sending payment, that they would go back to the bureaus and report it as being paid-upon receiving my payment.

Certified Recovery Systems making threatening calls

19 years 11 months ago
I have received 2 threatening calls in 2 days from these folks. They want all the payment or access to my checking account. I told them I don't have one, but that I have a debit/visa card. She said the only way she would take that is if I broke up the payments into 2. I owe them $420. She said left a message last night saying that I obviously I am not going to work with them and they were going to go ahead and process me for arrest. Has anyone dealt with these folks and are they full of crap?

My RollerCoaster Story

19 years 11 months ago
I will try to make this as shoprt and simple as possible. My grandparents were poor. My Grandfather wanted more out of life and so he set a small amount that he and my granmother would put away every week no matter what. PS: When he passed away he was worth over $1 million. Unfortunately my Mother never picked up on their money management skills and perserverance so in turn, neither did I. I was in debt when I got married and still in debt after my seperation in 2000 and subsequent divorce in 2002.

Electronic Payment Processing

19 years 11 months ago
Hello, I received a call at work from George Peter at United Federal Bank (Tel: 908-212-3726), saying he was calling to collect on a payday loan I supposedly had from Electronic Payment Processing back in April 2005. This dude could barely speak English, and was clearly reading from a script on how he was collecting and expected me to pay $685 by 11 am.

Can they do this?

19 years 11 months ago
I have several accounts which are being reported by two different agencies. I know that I have to figure out which one actually owns it but my question is this. The first reporting agency is almost out of time (been reporting for about 6 years) now the second agency is on there they claim to have the ability to keep reporting for another 7 years? Can the same one be extended past 7 years just because it is with a different collection agency?
