Has anyone been contacted by first credit of america or have any info on them?

Are collection agencies allowed to call you at work? I thought that was against the law. What can you tell them when they do?

Is your debt consolidation program free? Is it all done through the phone or can I sit down and talk about my debt with a counselor in person?

Does settlement on charge-off account hurt your CR? Or would it be better from me to pay the whole amount of $950? If I pay the whole amount due how would it appear on my CR? Thanks

Hello! I am new to this forum and I am very excited that I found it! I just got a new job where I plan on making a lot of money, and one of my biggest priorities is cleaning up my credit. My first question: is it possible to do debt consolidation on old medical bills that are already negative items on my credit report? They are somewhat old but still a few years away from coming off the report. Any help that anybody can give me would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure I'll have more questions to come! I have been paying them for about a year, now i own about $800 is it better to pay it all off,or settle they sent me a settlement letter.

Greetings All, Just received a call from a customer rep from United Christian Financials. We went over all the numbers and I was just wondering if anyone had any prior experiences with this company. okay--heres my question, how long-legally speaking-does it take on an account being late, before it can go into 'charge off'??? The reason I'm asking. My husband had a truck loan that we paid every month and paid off. We paid it off two years ago. It was a five year loan. When I checked my credit report last year, I noticed that they reported to the Credit bureaus that it was a 'paid charge off'. HUH?? I knew absolutely nothing about this. I had not received any calls or written correspondence that they were even considering a charge off. I have the title and it was paid in full.

I received a message at work from IWCB stating I needed to have my atty call today. I called back and after being transferred around, I got Liz Wade's VM. I left her a message stating I had spoken with Platinum B Services, the account they are trying to collect on, on Friday and was informed that IWCB/Jacobi & Mayors is not authorized to do collections for them. I let her know I have filed complaints with the FTC and BBB and have a call in to the Atty General in Wyoming. I have also asked she stop calling me. Should I still send the cease and desist letter?
