My Story

19 years 6 months ago
Well I had worked 3 1/2 years for a credit bureau did my best to establish good credit, then in the end of 2004 I went through a divorce and lost my house and job, now I am on SSI Disability and I still enjoy helping people with credit problems to this day I post at several forums, sometimes I am gone for periods due to my mental illness. Since the divorce my credit has unfortunately turned for the worse and I will not be attempting credit repair at this time, since most of the debt is within the SOL, even though I know my income is non-garnishable.

hospital bills and no health insurance

19 years 6 months ago
I am new to this site, and am looking for any advice or information that anyone may have. A few years back I was in a car accident that left me with hospital bills that are overwhelming to even think about. I was making payments on them regularly until I lost my job, and I couldn't afford to any more. My bills were then sent to multiple collection agencies, and now I can not even open a bank account(which I just found out). I am wondering if there is anything I can do to put me back in line, so that I can open an account with out paying all of them off in full.

Couple of accounts that are in Charge offs

19 years 6 months ago
I have a couple of accounts that are charged off, according to my credit report. Can I pay the amount owed in full to the original creditor? Or do I have to pay it to the collection agency, and wait for the charge off to disappear? And if I CAN pay the original creditor (which I would prefer to do, if possible) Will the collection agency "go away" from my credit report?

Another entry in the LOAN SCAM list

19 years 6 months ago
Just some FYI for people looking for loans, I received a call stating that I was accepted for a loan amount of 5000, but it was a secured loan because of my credit. I sent 662.30 through Western Union. Well needless to say I never received the money in my account. This organization is North American Financial Services and the web site is fasteasyloansonline.com. I have reported them to my state assembly and also to the police! Link made inactive as per forum rules-Vikas

Trying to understand credit report stuff....

19 years 6 months ago
After way too many years in my young life of just "letting things go", I am trying to get my financial life in order! YAY! I understand that negative marks do come off of my report after so many years.. My question is...What about those accounts that get transferred to another company? I have one from about 6 years ago that I still have a small balance on, but it was purchased by another company recently..So do the years start over??

two dates for the accounts in collection in my CR

19 years 6 months ago
I was going through my credit records and find that two different dates are listed for removal on a creditor. One report shows estimated date on 04/2008 and another shows 4/2006. It was placed for collection on 12/2001 and was closed or paid on 8/2003. I know that by law they have up to 7 years to report it, but it is not written in stone. So can I complain to them and have them remove it on 4/2006?
