Charges on checking account

Apparently someone got my debit card number, and started making charges yesterday. There is even a charge to Sears Flowers! I can't believe someone would use a stolen number to order flowers! I've ordered a new debit card. The bank assures me this is enough. I'm concerned about how they might have gotten my info. Also, any advice on getting order info from Sears to go after this scum? Thanks.

Student Loans though Sallie Mae

I'm not sure if this is something that has been covered, or if anyone on this site has knowledge, but... My boyfriend's son applied for and was approved for student loans, though Sallie Mae (sp?), with my boyfriend co-signing. His son didn't end up going to the school and the payments, from what I understand would have been made directly to the school. Of course, the son isn't paying the repaying the loan, now that it's come due, and my BF is having to pay for it, since he co-signed and doesn't want his credit affected. Has anyone had a similar situation?

Creditor Recovery Corporation doing an asset investigation

I just recieved a horrible call from these people. The person who first left the message was very nice when I called, but then transferred me to someone who was very rude and said they were doing an asset investigation and would appreciate it if I would cooperate. They wanted the names of my parents and their phone number..the names of my husbands parents and their phone number...my bank info...then names of two more immediate family members and their phone numbers. I told him that I would not give him this information and that he is not allowed to call my or my husband's family.

866-529-0217 - is anyone dealt with Langhorne law?

Hi, there! I haven't been on here, for a few months, as I've pretty much got my ducks in a row...at least I thought so! I got a call from Langhorne Law who claims to represent Nationwide Cash/Ambassador Financial. It was pretty typical, this is what you owe from defaulting on your payday loan, etc. I explain that I'm working with a debt management company and will need something, in writing, from them, so that I can release my DM firm to enable them to talk with them and set up a payment.

Cash Today Ltd over charge $79 for $200 dollars

I agree, how professional can they be if they don't have a website? What year are we in? I thought 2006. Give me a break! Also everyone that you call has an accent, which I don't mind, but are they racist? I thought of that also. I don't understand why they over charge $79 for $200 dollars, and it is to everyone, not only those with low credit scores, because I have not been turned down by others, but when they told me they were going to charge me $79 dollars for a $200 dollar loan, I totally rejected and decided not to take it.

Crazy phone call

I just received a call from Cleveland Ohio with a blocked number on the caller id and the gentleman wouldn't give his name and asked for mine and my husbands ss#, address, how many kids we have and what was his yearly income, where he worked, where we banked and what was our average balance and how many vehicles do we own. I told him that I sure as hell wasn't giving him any of our personal information. I am not, will not give any personal information over the phone to anyone. He got very irate and slammed the phone down. Guess I ruined his day!

gc services and the board of education

GC services contacted me about 2 months ago stating that I defaulted on a student loan 25 years ago. After arguing with them and the board of education I have no proof that I paid the loan since I have no records anymore. I even called the Department of banking in my state to try to find microfilms from 25 years ago but through all the bank mergers nothing exists anymore. I can't even go the school since the school no longer exists. I paid that loan off 20 years ago but can't proove it. Does anyone have any advice they can give me.

I was working with a creditor on a medical bill

I was working with a creditor on a medical bill and it was going through insurance but got kicked back twice and eventually went to collections, but I was working with the creditor on a reduced payment plan. I eventually paid the creditor the whole amount and 8 months later a derogatory mark shows up from the debt collector. Is this fair?
