If I do not own a house and still live at my mothers can I qualify for a loan? I have the deed to her home but she is no longer living and the house was never put into my name. Is this still use for a loan.??

I just have a general question about what the stages are with being behind on payments. After a company sends your account to a collection agency, how long do they pursue the matter. After that do they rake you to court?

Here is a news for student community. A recent report is saying that the interest rate of Stafford Loan is very much prone to increase by next year. Higher Education Act is going to be revised and if the proposed bill passes, then the interest for Stafford Loan will jump to 6.8% while currently borrowers have to pay 5.3% interest on Stafford Loans. The bill is still under revision. But as the bell has rung already, students are trying to consolidate their loans and thereby locking it at a lower rate of interest. Hope it helps you all.

How can a debtor know if a judgement has been renewed? If the debtor is not notified of a renewal within the sol, does the judgement automatically expire? Thank you

Hi everyone. Let me start off by saying thanks to everyone for ALL the helpful information. Let me give a brief description of my debt. All of the debts i am trying to pay is OLD, by atleast 3-4 years. Everything has been sent to collection agencies and honestly, after reading about them(superior, paragon, etc..)i don't want to have to deal with them. I have called a few of them and have been given settlement offers. Now here's my question: I think i have more faith in letting an agengy deal with my debts rather than me.

Hi. I had written a little while back about a collection agency for a wells fargo account, that would not respond to any of my letters or payments. I first received a letter from them stating that they were working the account. (although a wells fargo agent said it was still 'in house'-which could be) I wrote letter after letter, I heard nothing from them. Then sent a good faith payment in the form of a money order, still nothing. Sent a second payment the very next month, also in the form of a money order, still nothing.

Can anyone tell me something about Certified Recovery Systems. A very rude collector called me today and demanded that I pay him 160. within 48 hours. I offered to make several payments, but this was not accepted. I was told that I had 48 hours to make payment in full or my account would be processed further. He refused to explain what he meant by that statement. If I did not agree to make payment he said he would record that I had refused, he would contact my employer for positive ID and the account would be further processed. Is this agency legitimate? What are my rights?
