I'm troubled on whether to keep paying the minimum payment on my current debt with the or to try a consolidation program which would reduce my debt in a shorter time but go against my credit. How can I figure which is the best route for me to take?

I mailed by revocation letters to all 3 of my payday loans via certified mail. I have received all of the green receipt cards back signed. As of this date the only company that i have heard from is magnum cash advance. they sent me an e mail with paid in full. no response from great plains lending and red stone fast cash. i also requested refund from red stone for about 500$. any idea when these two companies will start with the phone calls.
thank you
I called midland to inquire about debt settlement on two capital one cards that were charged off due to me being ill at the time. First, they had my credit entangled with another guy who shares the same name and declared bankruptcy. Second, they said my balance was $11,000 and that's on once card that had a credit limit of $500! Of course, there's no reasoning with "indian" telemarketers who have been trained with fake American accents. This company needs to be sued.
I'm in the process of a loan modification and was recently advised that my 2nd mort. $19,000. was sold to an insuance/collections agency. Apparently, there was undisclosed pmi on the loan. I had asked if I should keep that payment current and was told it would be modified after the 1st mort. was mod. I called the lender and they said that it was no longer their account and i would have to deal withe collections agency. I received a letter from the collection/insurance co but i am not sure what to do next. Should I call or write a letter acknowledging the debt? Can i negotiate it down???
Sigh...where to start.
In 1999 when I was going to college, my girlfriend (now wife) got a $3,500 credit card and towards the end of my college career, ended up defaulting because we couldn't make the payments. The card went to collections and we moved out of state.
A couple years later, we got a notice in the mail that stated there was a default judgment entered against us for just over double the original amount of credit, about $7,700.
I was just recently divorced and have been working with b of a on loan mod. I asked several times if I should continue paying on the 2nd and was told not too. As long as I was in a loan mod. process I would be fine. Should have known better. I had to stop paying because the mort. was too high. I was recently informed that my 2nd mort. $19,000. was sent to collections. Apparently there was undisclosed pmi on the acct. This collection agency wears many hats, insurance co., collection agency, etc. The collection agency verified that they own the debt and b of a is out of it.
