I am considering consolidating my debt, but am wondering if it costs me anything to do so, and if so how much? How much debt can I consolidate at once? If I have to pay you to consolidate my debt how much is it, and why do I have to pay?

Hello, My bankruptcy has been discharged for over 7 years, but the items are sitll on my credit report, and that's bringing my credit score down. Should this come off my report automatic, or how does it work?

Hi - I'm new here, and I'm in a tough situation... my divorce was final in January, but we're all still living in one big happy home (not!), because I can't afford to move out until we reach settlement. The reason we HAVEN'T reached settlement is we're fighting over the credit card debt and the date of financial separation. The credit cards are all in my name, and there's a significant amount of debt. The monthly payments have gotten out of control, and I'm having trouble paying. Several people have suggested consolidating, and my lawyer gave me the go-ahead...

My now ex husband purchased a VW Jetta many years ago and signed his father's name and cosigned my name on the loan. I found this out years later. In the end he never finished paying it off and the debt collectors came after me. I ended up paying off the bad debt and never reported my husband at the time. Now I am finding out that the car was repossed. And all of this is on my credit. Is there anyway to remove all of this? And why did I have to pay the debt when the car was repossed anyway?

HI... I am new to this forum and I am looking for some direction. My wife and I have roughly 55,000 - 60,000 dollars of debit. To make a long story short, I had a good paying job but was let go. After I was let go, I found a job paying less money and my wife and I had our first child. In order to make up the difference in income, we were borrowing from one card to pay the other. We hit a point a few months ago where the payments are just to much. Right now, we don't have much to put into a program. We can afford roughly $200.00 per month.

if once you have done the debt consolidation, can you make a larger payment if you get more money so to pay these debts off quicker?

A friend opened a business acct. for her soon to be ex. She wrote him a blank check to pay for restaurant food supplies and wrote "For: Food Supplies," and signed in August 2003. On October 1, 2003 she closed the account and let him know. On October 7, her ex altered the date of the blank check from August to October and used it instead to order cash register equipment and services. Her ex then filed for bankruptcy. The cash register company is now coming after her to collect 5300 dollars, even though she never signed a contract or authorized payment to the company. Can they do this?
