making a payment on credit cards

20 years 2 months ago
i have alot of debt on credit cards. Don't know if i should file bankcrupty or pay a small amount (not the minimum) Is this adviseable???? My husband was murdered 2 years ago and I collect social security for our 5 small children. Rent is more than I receive. I have used credit cards to pay bills to survive for food, clothes for the kids, shoes etc. I have a part time job but it does not pay very much.

Credit Bureaus: Biggest Threat To Your Identity

I ran across an interesting read at Consumer Affairs, Credit Bureaus: Biggest Threat To Your Identity While not technically "right", I really don't have all that big of a problem with CRAs getting you to purchase their product before they do anything. But, I do believe that my money should put me on an equal footing with businesses that report when it comes to disputes, providing proof, whose word they take, and so on. Basically, I've paid for that access just as they have. Jerry

I need Help to consolidate my bills

20 years 2 months ago
My husband was murdered 2 years ago and I have been trying to make ends meet. I have 5 small children and I am 26 years old. I have a part time job and My retired mother watches my children. I cant afford a babysitter. I have been living on credit cards to pay my living expenses and have gotten very deep in debt. I can't make the payments on time so I get late fees which makes the limit of my credit card overdraft and in turn I am charged additional fees. How does one consolidate the bills to have only one bill?

Advice

I'm a 21 year-old senior in college. Though I'm blessed to not owe a large debt, I do have a total debt of $5,000 (credit card and department store card combined). I'm anticipating graduating this December and want to get my finances on track and improve my credit scores. I've tried payday advances to help pay off some of the balance, but it only puts me deeper in the whole. I'm considering a line of credit from by bank, but am afraid I won't be approved because of my credit. I've also applied to a credit union to become a member in hopes I could get a loan. But what do you recommend?

Back in the beginning of time

OK, I'll start a "partially" Auto-Biologicaly thread here. Without all the background and stuff my story wouldl not make any sense.. I iwll add post as time permits and relate my story in short chapters.. In the Beginning: when I started to Rememeber.... I grew up in two worlds. My Mom was from Northern Maine, Very Rural and Poor. My Dad was from Miami Florida, a big city with plenty of oppertunities. My Dad met my Mom while in the Coast Guard and Stationed in Sourth Portland Maine. They got married when he was 19 and she was jsut barely 17.

Medical Debt

I am having difficulty in paying my medical debt. It is only $3500 but I have one in paticular that is threating legal action if I don't pay it off in 4 months. Which is $600 a month. Would I be able to consolidate my medical bills into one payment since it's under $5000?
