Have student loans that are huge. trying to get a direct consolidation loan, but am ineligeble due to wage garnishment. DCS has been ridiculously unhelpful. Go figure. I am currently unemployed. Do I have any recourse with getting wage garnishment lifted and if I do loan rehab, what is considered a fair payment

Today my young adult daughter received a judgement in the mail from a local civil court saying she did not show up for a hearing regarding a suit filed against her by Med1 Solutions in Indianapolis. She is dumbfounded and says she knows nothing about this. She said she never was served a summons or even knows who Med 1 Solutions is. I looked them up and they are a collection agency for healthcare agencies. What should be the next step for her? She tried to call the court number but it is closed for the day. Folks, I am still learning how to understand my credit report. I am trying to figure out the SOL on some of these tradelines. Im in CA..so I believe it is 5 years for SOL and 7 years before it gets remove from my report. On the Chase tradelines. It show date opened = 6/1/2005. Then on the 24/Mo Payment History (7/2010-6/2012) All KD except in 8-2011 it show ND. Is there a way I can find out when the SOL on this expired and when it will get remove from the report from the information showing on the report. Thanks in advance

I received numerous calls from Cohen, Schwartz and Associates. They claim to be attorneys and they are filing criminal charges against me for a payday loan that i had in 2007. They say the charge is 'Internet Depository Check Fraud'. The payday loan was with LoanPoint USA. I am in California and I know that criminal charges can't be filed for a payday loan. I don't even remember this loan as it has been over 5 years. I just want to know what exactly this charge is. And, is there a statute of limitations on payday loans.

Isn't it against the law for any debt collector to harass, and also isn't it against the law to call you place of work?

I recently revoked authorization for 247greentstreet.com as they are not licensed in the state of iowa. I have had 4 previous loans with them and I asked to lower the principal due for the most current loan based of the interest and fees I paid on the prior loans. Today I received a response from them stating "we are unable to deduct previous loan fees from your current loan balance, but we are willing to remove all fees from the current outstanding loan: This is a difference of $250.00. I don't want to pay them anymore than I have to.
