i had HSBC credit card of $3000 as i was international student in australia .now i returned home to my country india and i could not pay the money of card owed.will they be able to sue me in india because they have branches in india as well ,are they all connected to each other , will that affect my credit rating in india :(:( .please advise me thanks

I have a friend who is considering bankruptcy and I was wondering if any of you have any advice. Let's start with the debt - he currently has about $40k in student loan debt (payments are deferred), $17k in credit card debt at 30%, and $6k in debt from the Lending Club at 15%. He is just about maxed out on his credit limits aside from $200-300 of space that moves around between the cards. Income - He is currently unemployed and collecting $1,580 a month from state unemployment benefits.

I have 12 payday loans out and money will be collected this Thursday. Should I close account? I want to pay them back but when they all hit at once I'm beyond my means. I really need this paycheck and way thinking of having work cancel direct deposit and close account. Any suggestions?

Back in 2008 Arrow Financial took me to court and had a judgement against me. I am in the process of buying a home and the lender want to see documentation on dismissal of judgement with Arrow Financial. I have been trying to contact Arrow by phone and in writing and no response. First their general voicemail state that they have requested credit bureaus to remove any reporting by Arrow Financial. What do I do or what do I provide my lender if Arrow is not even reachable?

We just got an ambulance bill from Alberta that I feel is unfair (we would have made other arrangements if we had known the cost). If we refuse to pay, for $800 do you think they would try to collect from us in Oregon?

I took out a payday loan from a lender located in Delaware. Even though I have sent them emails telling them they are not licensed in my state, they are still saying since I have electronically signed online, i am still responsible for the loan. I have paid almost all of the principal and sending them the last $25.00 this Friday. Can you tell me if I need to worry about this, their collections department is calling and sending me emails. What are the laws regarding this?
