i had HSBC credit card of $3000 as i was international student in australia .now i returned home to my country india and i could not pay the money of card owed.will they be able to sue me in india because they have branches in india as well ,are they all connected to each other , will that affect my credit rating in india :(:( .please advise me thanks

I have a friend who is considering bankruptcy and I was wondering if any of you have any advice.
