I found out that most of the payday lenders I received funds from are in fact illegal in PA. What about the collection agencies trying to collect on them? What course of action can be taken with them trying to collect more then principle?
I fell into a rut with payday loans last year. I took two out in the amount of $500. Bayside Loans and Pepper Cash. So far I have paid them 2530 each. Last month was not good to family issues so I took out a couple more. MyNextDayCash $500, Vandelierin $500, and 247 Green Street $300. Thanks to this website I followed the proper steps due to the fact they are illegal in CT. I went to Bank of America and had hold put on my account(I was already in the process of changing to a credit union). They gave me no trouble at all and I was out of there within 10 mins.
Had anyone ever had to deal with NCO before? Do they serve. I just got the message that says I have charges and a claim against, me and I have been notified or whatever. ITs for a pay day loan.
Thanks
Hello!
First I am in California.
I received a call a couple weeks ago from an unlisted number stating "I'm calling
in regards to a formal complaint and summons faxed over to my office this morning. You have one opportunity contact the planets resolve this matter voluntarily." (my voicemail tries to transcribe the message and is downloadable).
So I called and found out their name is RTH group and they are an arbitration firm and not collectors. And they gave me info about the debt but wouldn't give me their email address or business address. They did give a fax number.
I received a collections agency notice of a medical bill due for $242. This was the first notice I ever received of having owed any money and the bill was from 6 years ago! Is there a statute of limitations on having to pay this bill and is there a timeframe for acceptable timely billing practices on the part of the provider? I have both private insurance and medicare which usually picks up what the private insurance does not. I live in Louisiana. Thanks!

Needing infomation on the same subject. These people keep calling my job and saying I committed fraud on non-payment of a loan. The loan amount has jumped up to over $6000 dollars from a $500 dollar loan. And now they said they had to serve me, first she almost said citation, then she changed it to papers. I live in Texas and I tried repayment and they took about $500 from a pre-paid debit card I had and I could not keep up the payments.
So, I have a payday loan with mycashnow, original amount $900. I have borrowed a total of $2500 over three loans from these guys and with principal and fees have paid back a little over $2500. I have defaulted on the "fees" and now the Credit Protection Depot is calling and e-mailing. I have not sent out letters yet, because my bank is being a pain and I'm still trying to close the account.
I have outstanding payday loans from the following companies:
Western Sky
Payday Wiz
First Bank of Delaware
Western Sky has not attempted to contact me regarding the debt.
However, a company called Liberty calls me to collect for First Bank of Delaware. They are only trying to collect the original amount of loan. I can't find anything about this collection agency online and they also refuse to give me a validation letter. I have only paid one payment to them of $144.00 and canceled the card the payment arrangement was on.
