Does any one know if a CC that has a judgement on my wife can come after my buisness account? She is a signer on the account. Do they just run her SS# and any account that it is on they can freeze? They already froze the joint account. I'm in New York any help would be great.
Its not a joint account. she is just a signer on the corporation
Its not a joint account. she is just a signer on the corporations account.
Still fair game?
If the debt is solely in her name and you were never a joint acc
If the debt is solely in her name and you were never a joint account holder they can not touch your money. The bank account in question, the same rules would apply. It would appear she is an authorized user to the account but not a joint account holder, correct? Who is the original debt through? I debt with a scum sucking company, Dominion Law Associates, who tried to touch money in a non-joint account since I was an authorized user. Well they tried and did touch the money but after a suit was filed against them for doing this illegally they were all but swift to hand me a large check to shut me up.
thanks for the replys The debt is with citi, wife is only signer
thanks for the replys
The debt is with citi, wife is only signer on the CC. All the debt is hers only. Buisness account is a corp that she is a authorized signer on. She is also a officer of the corp.
ideas? They aready froze the joint accounts. Suprise! I only had $100 in the accounts. And they can't touch it because of some law that there must be a certian amount of $ before they can take it.
I'm playing it safe and firing the wife tomorrow.
