When filing a FDCPA violation suit against a CA? I am now officially OVER dealing with Academy Collection for a credit card bill that I told them I was willing to pay, if they settled for 75% of the balance......

They have not heeded the C&D letter I sent them after my 7, yes, 7, DV letters to them failed to produce any information (that's $42 by the way that THEY owe me now in certified mail!)

They continue to call and harass me and my husband, who was never even on my account. I just got a call on my cell phone, which I just changed my number for this reason, and began threatening me again!

ACS REP: I need to speak to Ms. Cunnington.....now!
Me: This is her.....who is this?
ACS REP: This is (mumbling, sounds drunk).....You need to pay this bill now! We've had this account long enough and you refuse to pay!
Me: I understand you have had the account for a while....when you validate the debt to my satisfaction, then maybe I'll pay
ACS REP: We aint gotta validate nothin! Do you know who you're dealing with? Do you want to go to jail? Because we can make it happen you know.
Me: (bursting out laughing now) Oh, okay.....I gotta go.
ACS REP: Don't be stupid Ms. Cunnington......and don't be such a b*tch! You pay this debt now, or you'll lose everything and I mean everything!
Me: Everything? Wow....I don't own anything, so you wont' get much! (more laughing from me - I know....I was being bad)
ACS REP: Do your children know how big of a loser their mother is? I hope you like being visited in jail.
Me: (now I'm mad when you bring up my family) Frankly, my child is to young to know the difference, so tuck that nugget in your ass and sit on it for a while.....oh, and one more nugget - (this is where it gets good) Per the FDCPA, you're breaking quite a few of the laws right now by continuing to collect on this debt without answering my attempts at validation, you're continuing to harass me over this debt even though I sent a cease and desist letter to you which someone at YOUR company signed for, you're threatening me with jail time which does not fly because that isn't what happens, and you have threatened my husband when you called him and he isn't even on this debt! That right there is about 4 that you broke so far and each time you call me or report this to the 3 credit bureaus, I can sue you for $1000 EACH TIME AND I WILL WIN.
ACS REP: You can't sue us for sh*t! ...... dial tone

Nice.....I hope they pay these people more than minimum wage or they at least offer good health insurance because this poor person sounded like they were about to have a stroke!

But seriously, what type of attorney do I use? Do I use a regular attorney, or are there ones that specialize in cases like this?
