I am in Ohio and had a checking and savings with Telhio Credit Union. When I got into this mess with PDL's I closed my checking account. I also had outstanding debit card authorizations from worldwinner.com (yes I stupidly gambled in hopes of winning some money to pay the PDL's) and those debits have now been processed through my savings account. I spoke to the branch manager and she said if the debit Visa had authorzations then they (worldwinner) could force them through any account that was attached to the checking. Now I am scared to death that the PDL's will be able to ACH debit my savings as well - the routing number and account number are the same. Any advice? I really do not want to have to close my savings account but I also want to protect my money. I have sent C & D letters to the online PDL's but fear they will still debit. HELP PLEASE!

You need to send them an ACH revocation in accordance with EFTA (Electronic Funds Transfer Act) - regulation E, universal debits. Simply send them an email such as the example below and print it out and take it to your credit union and show it to them:

Date:
Your Name
Your Address, State
Account #

To Who It May Concern:
I hereby revoke any and all authorization I gave Company __________ to debit in any way any account I may have, per the electronic funds transfer act (EFTA), regulation E.

Signed
