HeLp!!!! Payday Loan Situation
Date: Wed, 09/23/2009 - 11:45
I have 4 outstanding pdls:
1. Webpayday borrowed $575 paid $1200
2. Ameriloan borrowed $200 pd $120
3. United Cash Loans borrowed $400 pd 240
4. Cold Cash borrowed $400 pd $200
I have since closed my account to stop the ACH debits. After paying this, webpayday said I still owe them $450, but are willing to settle for $350. Bull-hickey. I sent them an email this morning stating that pdls are illegal in NY and I won't be sending them another dime as I have overpaid already. I also sent an email to Ameriloan, stating I will only pay the principal. I have not contacted UCL as of yet. The Cold Cash Loan has sold to Nation Credit Adjusters, who have been very nasty on the phone, especially when I asked for a debt Validation letter. They said they needed the request in writing, and thanks to this board I have adapted a sample letter to my needs and will have it sent out registered mail a.s.a.p. What should I do to get rid of these pdls? Am I going in the right direction? HELP!

CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders. There's a lot of suggestions and good information in that thread at the link I gave you above. Tell National Credit Adjusters if they were ANY kind of professional collection agency you wouldn't have to tell them the protocol of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices) which is what you're about to do. Click the link below to read up on how a collection agency should proceed after their first initial contact with the debtor.
