One of my illegal lenders sent me this. I am not answering their phone calls and I have asked them to stop calling me at work (which they still do). They sent this via email and I am going to pay them - when I can- what I can... however, I will not be paying any fees no matter what they say, so how should I respond in a way that gets that across to them. I would actually prefer it to go into collections- so that I have a little more protection from their constant harrassment.

"You indicated that you will pay the principle amount on your account. When do you intend to do so. You are not relieved from the possibility of late charges and non sufficient funds fees or collection fees. If you go 30 days past due your file will go into collection status and those fees start to apply as well. Please call me tomorrow to resolve this. If I do not hear from you further action will be taken."

I would respond this way:

There will be no contact with you other than emails or USPS. I need a physical address to send payments via USPS with money orders, I will send what I can afford - when I can afford to do so, no interest or fees will be included. No address, no payments, the choice is yours. No further discussion is necessary. These are my terms.

re-state that they are illegal, and you will only pay back the principle borrowed.you will not call them either.all communications will be mail only.any further attempts to harrass will result in AG,and FTC complaints.don't let an illegal ipdl get off the mat, because that is where you have them.don't let up.
