Monday I am going to talk to the bank manager to close my account, as well as my fiance's account. Should I tell them that I have already sent the letters, and that they are giong to attempt to debit my account when I have removed that authority (they will be going out monday or tuesday)?? Also, should I have them do the hard debit hold before they are closed? His direct deposit will not be changed until next payday, so I probably need to leave it open until next week, then close it...right? Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get your paycheck changed to your new checking account??

Do the hard debit block as soon as possible. It's always best to be honest with the bank, so yes, I would give them a heads up about the upcoming debit attempts. You might also convey to them that even though you followed the law and revoked their right to debit your account they won't abide by it because they are operating illegally.
