Over $12,000 Overpaid??

13 years 11 months ago
Hello, I am new to these forums. I got online searching for a way out of the online payday loan hell I have been in since 2008. After researching many threads here, I believe I have overpaid 3 illegal online payday loan companies by over $12,000. What are the chances of me getting this money back? Since it is such a considerable amount, I am considering hiring an attorney to file a lawsuit. Do I have a case?

Bank Of America is unhelpful

13 years 11 months ago
Alright, so I'm following the step by step plan to stop paying any more money to the 3 illegal payday lenders I have. I've already determined they are illegal, have composed (but no yet sent) the letters revoking ACH authorization and wage garnishment. I did not want to send those until I spoke to my bank, closed my account, and opened a new one. But, Bank of America seems reluctant to help me.

BofA Recovery Department

I completed a short sale of my property last year and was expecting to receive 1099c. Received from first loan but did not for my 2nd loan so I called BofA. After much searching, researching, and throwing me around to different departments, the rep told me I needed to speak with Recovery and that they will not be sending me a 1099c. Then the phone disconnected. Should I contact the Recovery department or should I just let them contact me? If I call, what should I ask or tell them? Do I ask for a settlment?

Cash Yes Harrassment Collection Calls

13 years 11 months ago
Hi, Last May 2011, I took out an internet payday loan from Cash Yes not realizing it was illegal. Anyways, to make a long story short, I ended up having to close my bank account and change my home telephone number because Cash Yes stated that they sold my account to a third party collection agency. This "third party collection agency" calls me constantly with different telephone numbers claiming that they are from the FBI and state and that they have a warrant out for me on fraud charges. Really??

1099C - Paid in Full

13 years 11 months ago
Hello everyone. I'm working with Oak View Law Group to settle a pretty sizeable credit card issue. So far, things have been going smoothly. Two of my accounts were paid in full last year. As a result, i was expecting to receive 1099C's to report on my 2011 tax return. To date (2/22/12), i haven't received them. Is this common? Should i go begging a pleading to have these sent to me, or if I don't get them, i don't have to report this stuff? Either way, i'm planning on using the insolvency calculation this year. In the upcoming years, i may not be able to get away with that.

Need MyPayDayLoan.com Help in PA =(

13 years 11 months ago
Hey, I feel embarrassed about the fact that I ever even took out this loan and now I am dealing with the consequences. I took out a loan of $200, then an extra $120 in July from MyPayDayLoan.com. Kept making payments, finally realizing in December that nothing of the principle has been paid off, but that I've been paying for the honor of extending the loan. Oy. So to date, I have paid $1,033 to this company. I have been corresponding with them and they will not be reasonable with me whatsoever.

CCB nightmare

13 years 11 months ago
I am a very young woman, who has debt that (first of all that I had no control over from a parent using my SSN) I am trying to take care of instead of pursuing legal actions against my parent (you know, just didn't sit right on my conscience). Anyways, long story short, I get payment arrangements set up with CCB and I was going to start payments this month on the 17th. Well, I called about two weeks ahead of that, and told them I would not be able to make that payment and we had it rescheduled for the 27th.

What's this

13 years 11 months ago
I received an email from an Alan Peter, legal advisor, regarding one of my payday loans. It states a lawsuit will be files against me unless I settle this for $ 960. If I want to go to court it will cost me $6, 860. No particular payday company was mentioned. And it ends with "better get a lawyer to get you out of jail". Anyone heard of this guy? I am not sire if or how to respond, except with "please sned me this in writing including the name of the payday and the amount owed" Thoughts? thanks! dhl723
