I, like many others have gotten sucked into this mess and am trying to dig my way out! I am in the middle of a divorce with a sick child... :( I had been warned but was feeling desperate! I DO know that some of the sites I have borrowed from are not legal here in CA. All of them are websites not store fronts. In the past I have seen people request their fees repaid by the lenders which are not licensed here in CA. Paydaymax, over time I have paid over 3000.00 in fees and I need a sample letter of what to write to them so that I can try to get money back.

I realize I am stupid for taking out these loans during the holidays but that is done and now I need help. I read all the posting on how to deal with illegal creditors and stuff an need a little more assistance. I have 3 payday loans and I am currently in the state of Louisiana.I can not find any info on these companies to see if they are legal or illegal in Louisiana.

A Nadine Reynolds from BG & Associates called me back. She called and said that I need to contact them because I have not responded to any of their correspondances. She left a number 888-463-7565 and keeps calling family, etc to try and get information on me. I have no clue what this is even about. Should I ask them or not or should I just not speak to them. These are the same people that called earlier in the month to several of my family members and said that they were trying to contact me in regards to a debt. Is anyone familiar with these people and what should I do?

Since payday loan laws are constantly changing, I'm thinking Shazz's sticky is due to be replaced with more current, step by step information. I'd like to work on that myself. Once I've completed the job, I'd like to unstick Shazz's thread and create a new one. Any objections?

I recently started to clean up my credit. I noticed two credit cards that were charged off in 2006 that I don't recognize. LVNV own the accounts now. They just started reporting back in September of this year. I never received anything from LVNV or Resurgent in the mail about these debts. I never got a call from them either. I disputed the debts with the credit bureaus and my results from on credit bureau is that the accounts have been updated. I sent a debt validation letter to them. I haven't heard anything back yet.

I have been sued by FIA card services NA that is represented by M. A. Scott. This scum bag had the summon copies serve put in tape to my apartment front door while no one was at the apartment to open up. This is because I have moved from one apartment to another and he had the original citation sent to the other apartment 2 months ago. Although he mentioned in his letter that he obtained the Judge approval to pot it on the front door open in a plastic bag so everyone passing by can see it I felt that he violated some kind of privacy rule here...

I sent PG all the paperwork this website said to. I live in NJ and have paid them almost $600 more than what I borrowed. I received a response from them today stating that they have "immunity" and what not and actually quoted a lawsuit that was filed in Colorado. I was wondering if what I've done so far is correct and what I should do next. I'm not paying them another dime, but I aslo don't want issues with my credit report, etc... I'd be more specific about the email, but its hard to do on a cell phone. Thanks for all the great help on here.

Now that I sent everyone of my illegal loan lenders the "you are not legal in Florida" letters. I am now getting responses. One lender, Sure Advance, says that I owe $750. I only borrowed $500 and they already taken $243 and by my calculations I only owe them $267. How do I respond to them? Also, I have gotten the "your bank has denied our request for a debt and you need to contact us" email. I have already sent them the "not legal in Florida" letter. What do I do next about them? Any help is appreciated.

So, I have loans out with One Click Cash and United Cash Loans. I found out, thanks in part to this forum, that neither one is licensed in the state where I live (Colorado) and that they are charging more than the state allows on their finance charges. I changed my direct deposit so that it did not go into the account that the payments were debited from but I did call both companies because I want to make sure that this doesn't go to collection and hurt my credit (more than it already is, obviously, I already have credit issues if I'm accessing PDL companies).
