I was just wondering if anyone has made any headway with these jerks? In spite of being told to stop calling me via certified letter from the NC Department of Justice, they continue to do so, threatening me with subpoenas, calling my HR department, etc. Fortunately, I know that there isn't a dang thing they can do except call and threaten. No one is issuing a subpoena or anything remotely close to it. I've filed the BBB, FTC, IC-3 and AG reports, said to cease and desist, etc. The emails from the lovely Tim Atkins have stopped, though. I kind of miss him.

Due to a combination of stupid decisions and large bills (car repair, hospital bills) I currently have two installment loans and two payday loans. This is more than I can handle and I am starting to fall behind on important bills. I am looking for any advice that might be offered.

I've been tangled up in this loan with Payday Max for a while now... I would get a loan, then pay it back in full & get a new loan same day to get a few weeks break of having payments. I know payday loans are just a trap... but when I took the loan, I really needed the cash and then got caught up in it with no way out. Well, I had a loan due on 12/2. The week before, every day 2 times a day, I faxed Payday Max a letter asking them to stop the withdrawal on the loan (gave some lame story about bank account problems).

In April of this year, and after one previous contact about an alleged debt, this agency sent me a copy of a request for entry of default/court judgement and since then, I have heard nothing from that agency. I have checked the court dockets and "no matches" come up for the case number stated on the paper they sent me. I have no idea what happened with this other company, but now, I am being contacted again about this debt, but by this new agency.

I recently received a debt settlement offer from a company that, as far as I know, was the first communication I have ever received from this collection agency regarding the account they mention. My question has to do with this agency possibly violating the FDCPA's rules about stating my rights to validate, verify and obtain the original creditor's information. The letter I received says: "We are required under certain State and Local Laws to notify consumers of those States or Localities of the following rights.
