Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have an unusual problem. I was married to a man who was from UK and lived here in the states legally on a visa (just never became a citizen here). We got divorced in 2010 (he moved back to UK while we were getting a divorce). Shortly after we got divorced I started getting creditor calls and letters that he owed money on a few credit cards, about $5500 total. I have no idea where he is as his family has said that he has moved somewhere in Italy. I have no way of finding him nor do I care to put time, money, effort into finding him.

i am closing my account and sending letters to the two loan companies which I now know have been taking money from me illegally. I just don't have the addresses for these companies-can someone please help me out with locating the mailing address. my research is turning up nothing. Thanks in advance! Oasis 1 Marketing Gateway

i live in FL and have two payday loans. one with Oasisi1 Marketing for 300 and the other with Gateway for 200. I have paid 450 already for the Oasis 1 and gateway I have paid 781. Would I be wrong to put a block on my account for these companies due to me paying over what is owed. My friend says I can't because they are revolving loans that just keep going till you pay off the lump sum.

Hi I had just taken out 4 pay day loans. Magnum Cash Advance, United Credit Line, Zip19, and Plain Green Loans. Are all of these paydays loans? I ask because I just found out that pay day loans are illegal in NJ where I live. I want to call them and tell them I'm only sending them the principal(I just closed my bank account) and I also want to send them letters stating this. I just want to make sure I know what I'm talking about before I talk to them.

Hello All! I am so glad I found this site..there is some good dialogue on here. Unfortunately, alot of us have fallen into this PDL trap. Welll here us my story: I currently have 4 outstanding PDL's 1. CheckSmart (PDL from the pit of hell)....$867 store loan 2. Cash in a wink $520 - internet loan 3. Gentlebreeze (a.k.a LaPosta Tribal Lending) $433.14 internet 4. Cashnet USA $200 internet I have been pleading with checksmart to work with me but they refuse. they just keep calling, and calling, and calling.

Long story short - got laid off a year and a half ago and stopped paying credit cards then. Suddenly I am getting letters in the mail from creditors from a few credit card companies (actually the creditors they hired). One is for Capital One that I am going to pay because I know they tend to sue a lot. The other is from HSBC for a balance of 400 bucks but they will take 200. HSBC hired Redline Recovery and they said if I don't respond in 30 days they mail a judgement to mean - meaning they will sue me for 400 bucks?

I received a call on my work phone from NTC Associates asking for payment on a 2008 PDL from Cash Supply. They said i originally borrowed $350 and now owe $620, but would be willing to offer me a settlement. I didnt remember the debt, but figured it was an internet pdl i took out and was unable to pay back and have since forgotten about. I spoke to the supervisor Ms. Paris and set up a small payment to go thru this friday 9/30. A few minutes passed and I received a call again requesting payment. I informed them I already set up a payment why are they calling again.

Hi Guys, After doing a lot of reading and research on this (thanks all!!!) and other sites, I have found out that PDLs are in fact prohibited in my state of Pennsylvania. Confirmed by phone call to the PA Dept. of Banking (boy are they tired of getting calls about this issue. The man was informative, but clearly not pleased about getting another caller.) Back in 2009 I had 2 PDLs, one from "CashCentral" which claims I owe through NCA $365.00 and one from "CashNetUSA" which claims I owe $839.65 through the Law Firm of Richard Shum. What should I do about this NCA?

Hello - I appear to have gotten myself into a pickle, with a number of PDL taking out interest fees and no principal on my loans. Its gotten so bad that I don't have enough money in my paycheck to cover it, and therefore need MORE loans to make it through each bi-weekly period. I was wondering if there is anything I can do, or really, what my first steps should be. I have heard of closing my bank account, or just starting a new one with my direct deposit from work so that I get the full paycheck each time, then I can start paying everything off as it goes.

West assest just tried to contact a friend of mine, about a student loan. I just moved back to Wichita, Kansas. after being in Louisiana taking care of my mother. I just found a job, and have not even received a paycheck, and have other bills that are more important to get to. These people are saying I owe like 7000. when in reality I only owe about 2500. and do not want to pay anymore than that...So do I have to pay the 7000. or can I get it down to the principle. Also how do I get a hold of the DOE.
