I just stumbled across this website last night and it is a wealth of information. I have experienced my own payday loan hell to some extent, but my experiences pale in comparison to some of the horror stories that I have read in just a short time on this forum. I feel so bad for the people that are really deep into the PDL cycle. I hope that every state outlaws these types of loans (mostly internet based) that I have just learned are illegal. I have had several loans with MyCashNow.com, DiscountAdvances.com, and OneClickCash.com over the past couple of years.

I received an automated message from this collection agency. After reading these boards it looks like they are slime balls. I also received a vague e-mail from National Credit Adjustors. (Both of these things happened on the same day) When I called them they said they forwarded my account to M Callahan. This is for a loan from the Archway Group. M Callahan said that "BMG" sent me numerous letters in the mail and that they sent me a letter "last week". I have not received anything from either place. I asked them to send me another letter and they said they would via e-mail.

My old neighbor has used my phone number again as his own credit information. This is the third or fourth time he has done this. Frankly, I have lost track over the years. My problem is this one collection agency doesn't have a phone number where I can speak with a person. It is all automated which I reported them to the Do Not Call list. However, they seem to have a ton of numbers and just cycle through them. So the long and short of it is that I am getting several calls a day. Some with messages others just hang up. The worst is the 9PM calls when I am just about ready to turn in.

That bill is the least of my worried, I paid my electric bill the day it was due to be cut off as well as my phone bill. I got behind on various medical bills as well. I feel trying to get my credit cards caught up is more important right now. Just wondering what I could be looking at?

I took a $1500 loan with Western Sky which of course was sold to Cash Call. I owe only $500 now on the principle. Has anyone had any luck dealing with them? If so how did you do it. I have no problem making payments to pay back the amount of principle that I owe but not the high interest.

Hey everyone! So, things have come up in which I may have to give up my car. I purchased my car in April from a buy here-pay here dealership. If I'm a day late, they call all my references from when I signed my loan; my mom, my sister, my grandma, a coworker and four friends. I'm afraid that if I voluntarily give my car back they will begin harassing my references after they sell my car. Do I have any ground to stand on to make then stop calling my references and only talk to me?

I am still having trouble settling my debt with my Bank of America accounts (haven't made a payment for 150 days) and wonder if you have any advice for me.... First I was told when I called them that my account didn't have a settlement offer so it wasn't eligible. Then for a month and a half I was told that the accounts were with the 'pending bankruptcy' department and so they couldn't talk settlement. I told them I wanted to settle and several times someone said they'd followup but it kept bouncing back to that department.

A judgement was brought against myself earlier this year. Despite living with my parents, I'm not on the title and I haven't been claimed as a dependent in years. First, is this even legal? Second, what can my parents do? Thanks.

I have made the difficult decision to file bankruptcy. Unfortunately, I have filed bankruptcy previously, so I can't file again until Feb. Some places have been nice about it...others not so nice. I am having a lot of trouble with Check into Cash. They are claiming I have to call them every single day and check in with them. Has anyone else had this experiece? I also have a Check n Go Installment loan and they are being rather mean as well. Cashnet USA were nice at first, but since I haven't actually filed bankrupcy...they are getting mean. How am I going to live through the next 5 months?

When working with Hunter Warfield, I found the deals and negotiations wre easier towards the end of the month, now I know why "commission". After trying to pay them off when I could they rejected every offer even though my offer was 75% of the balance owed. By the way this company charged a hefty interest penalty monthly onthe amount owed. It went from 1795 to 1974 in 6 months.
