I was trying to apply for a loan for a house and found out that I owe AFNI $199.00 from my credit report. I've been doing some research online trying to figure how I should approach this. There are many website instructing people on how to dispute or request for a validation of the bill upon 30 days receiving the initial letter. However, I did not receive anything from AFNI and I had no prior knowledge until I saw that on my credit report...I didn't even know when they reported that on my credit report.

I live in New York and took out a payday loan last year for 600 from VIP Loan Shop I paid the interest or fee as they called it above and beyond the 600 that was borrowed and upon realizing that this practice was illegal in my state I went about closing the attached bank account. Today I received a call from a collection agency that informed me that they had purchased said debt from the payday loan company . I informed them that after having consulted with my state's AG since I had more than repaid the principal of the loan, I owed VIP loan shop nothing.

My name on chexsystems is going to be 5 years tomorrow, which, according to chexsystems website, is when it will be deleted. This is from what I'v read on chexsystems, that they expire in 5 years? Do they come off of my record automatically? Do I have to do anything to get it off? I'm scared to even try to get a new bank account in case I get turned down. Will banks still have records that I used to be on the chexsystems? Is it possible that they extend it past 5 years? Also, I don't have good credit, I have bad credit, is that going to get in the way of me getting a bank account?

I am being sued by Michael J. Scott, PC and have a court date set for September 21, 2011. All I recall getting in the mail was a letter of intent to sue. The problem is that I don't check the mail, my husband does. Most letters from debt collectors would go directly in the trash (this process has changed since being sued). I happened to open this one myself just to see what it was. So I could have gotten more, but there is no way for me to know for sure. Can I negotiate the late fees with the CA and agree to pay just the tuition. Also will the CA remove the negative from the credit report after I pay the tuition in full? I have been contacted by debt collectors threatening wage garnishment for a private student loan. last October my wife was diagnosed with cancer right about the time my student loans were coming due as a result i have not made any payments to my now defaulted student loan i am a father of 3 and in a fight with my wives cancer only make 33k a year and any money I have above my household expenses goes to medical bills ect... . the minimum payment the collection agency says that they will except to keep me from getting garnished is $269.

I have a mortgage in my name alone on a home I bought before getting married. I also have several credit card accounts that I also opened before being married on which I owe balances and I am the only signer on those accounts. The debt on CC was incured while married. I have an excelent credit history and never been late on any payments in the past 20 years.
