I have several pdl that I am working on trying to payoff, but just out of curiousity what type of legal action can they take against someone that doesn't pay them off. I have pdl with Ace Cash Express, Ameriloan, 247Greenstreet, CashNetUSA, Cash Central. These are all online loans. Don't get me wrong I am making my payments but just curious. Thanks.

I have finally come to grips that we are no longer able to keep up with our min. mo. credit card payments. We're falling behind at the rate of $1500 a mo. in what we owe in total bills. We have been dipping in to our Retirement account to make ends meet every couple of months and retain our current good credit score, and we are almost out of money. Before that happens, I would like to try to settle with the cc companies for a portion of what we owe. My question is do I just stop paying them all together and wait a certain period?

To all those that have successfully settled with your creditors, how long before you saw negative info i.e. CA info fall off your credit report? It's nice to be debt free, but how long do you "pay" the consequences afterwards? I'd like to buy a house some day, but I don't want to wait 7 to 10 years to do so.

Can anyone confirm if CC or WS are registered or licensed with the State Of Texas? I have looked repeatedly and have failed to find a confirmation on this. Thanks, JW

i have officially had it with this member.her info is basic,and bad at times.however like anna sweeting i really think she doesn't read threads or posts.example:i just responded in a thread about FL PDL'S and after eight posts she just pulls the generic post.we already established the loans were illegal,and gave the links to combat them.giving the generic info post about pdl's at that point is asinine.also she posted on a thread that closing an account due to pdl's was not a good idea.if ohiogal didn't respond i would have.we really should revamp the TOS to include quality of content as well b

The storefront Ace Cash Express I am not so worried about after reading California Laws in this very informative and excellent thread. Much appreciated and thank you for all of your hard work. The one that irks me the most is Cash Central. The first call I got from them was a threat. Claiming to be the Law offices of Thomas and Williams LLC. Of course in searching for this law office there is no information to be found. I had taken out a $255 pdl, medical conditions ate up every penny I had and I was in no condition to even worry about anything else but my life.

Can someone answer a few questions on bank levies... I someone gets a judgement against them, can the court levy across state lines? Ex: Live in PA, open an account at a local NJ bank. I saw somewhere that they cannot, as long as there are no branches in your state. Can brokerage accounts be levied ie. mutual funds? Is there a minimum amount they cannot touch? Thanks

I sent a validation letter to Asset Acceptance regarding a HFC account. I asked for proof that they bought the debt including an officer's name so that I can verify this, complete payment history from inception including any interest and fees they have tacked on and a copy of the original agreement bearing the signature of the alleged debtor. What I received in response stated "Enclosed please find an account statement prepared with information provided to us by the prior creditor. This statement is provided in response to your request for validation.

Hey guys, stumbled across this site in my search for relief like so many others on this website. I live in MN and my wife had been off work for a couple months and we were in bad straights. My wife had taken out 8 different loans without my knowledge and now we are working together to get this sorted out. I've received several messages from this phone number. The woman calling me says her name is Investigator Pam White, but her accent makes it hard to understand the company name. It's something Abbott or something Atlas. She says to call back at 888-202-0947, and her direct extension is 715. She also referenced a 5-digit case number. She left a message with the secretary at work in between calling twice on my cell (I don't answer), saying I needed to call back, and it's an emergency.
