Hello I'm new to this forum but after googling Hunt& Henriques I decided to join. I just received my first letter from them stating capital one has engaged this law firm to collect the outstanding debt which is $4550.00. After reading other posts I'm wondering what I should do first. Most of the other post are after people have been served. Thank you in advance for the reply.

I currently have 54k in cc debt, 19k in personal unsecured loan, 2 mortgages, 1 car lease. I am having trouble paying for the unsecured debt and BK is not an option as I cannot lose my house (and other mortgage is my moms home that my brother pays for who is also on the mortgage). The 54k is split between 7 cards. 17k with chase, 12k with unionbank, 7k with amex, 8k with citi, 2k with bofa, and 2k with bestbuy. I have 0 late payments on my account thus far but my credit is taking a big dip because of this. all cards are maxed.

Is there any difference between debt management and consolidation? Both are professional debt relief programs and I've seen in both, I have to make single monthly payments.

Hello, I'm in Florida. I have a loan with PG. Amount borrowed- $1400.00. So far I have paid $3677.25. I also have a line of credit (haha) with Ladder Credit aka Miinan for $800. Not sure of the exact amount I've paid them. Thousands, I'm sure. Has anyone dealt with them? Am I correct in that they are illegal tribal lenders and I just need to follow the steps for illegal servicers? I cannot afford to pay them anymore and it's out of hand. Thank so much for your help and info!!

Hello everyone! I reside in Florida and just discovered that Plain Green Loans is illegal in my state. I am going to my bank to have my account closed and changed. I have been paying on the loan for a year now and was wondering if there was anything I can do if the amount I paid back already equals more than the actual loan I took (since I legally only need to pay back the amount borrowed. Also, what do I say to Plain Green when I contact them? Thanks for all your help, thanks to this site I learned about my loan being illegal. I look forward to getting the help in this matter!

I currently have around $20k in credit card debt. I have the ability to pay around $1600/month towards that debt. Currently, $800 of that is going into savings. Is it best to leave that $800/month going into savings (where it's not really earning any interest) or put it towards the debt in order to pay it off faster and pay less in interest? I already have my own answer but I'm interested in what others think about the options.
