I have around eight payday loans most of which I have almost paid the entire principal or very close to it in fees. I got on the phone with the Director of the Alabama Department of Banking after I researched and discovered that all the pdl's I had were illegal in my state. The Director asked me to send her copies of all my paperwork which I did and they are now in the process of sending out letters to those that have addresses and trying to find addresses for ones that they don't. The attorney general I believe is involved as well.

Hello, I just pulled my credit reports and i have something from Asset Acceptance LLC Equifax states that the balance is $8,031 while trans union states that the balance is $7,813 on both reports they are listed as open accounts but under pay status it says collection account on transunion and under comments on equifax it says collection account. The original creditor says citibank.

Our family has hit some financial harship as of recently so the Mr. and I took the easy way out and got PDLs at differnt company's over a few months time. We live in TN Cash Express - 230.00 & 230.00 Advance America - 330.00 Check into Cash - 488.17 Those above are with the fees. Also we have some small installment loans. Those aren't a huge issue and are more easily managed. But on payday Fridays I now have to spend my entire lunch hour plus some to go to each of these places and renew the loans.

OMG, I had a loan with this company and defaulted. They contacted my employer because I signed the wage assignment and he garnished by pay check without checking this company out. Normally, wage garnishments go through the court system first regardless of what I signed. I feel like a total jack*** and wished that I had found this site sooner. :(

hello i receve a court paper from one of the county in michigan...capital one is trying to sued me for unpaid c/c bills..any suggestions out there what should i do? there layers are buckles and buckles...can i dispute the death? should i answer them or call lawyers?

I have a collections account on my credit from a past employer. They overpaid me when I left, and I attempted to work with them on paying back what I owed. However, they wanted me to pay back net (including what was taken out for taxes I already paid, social security, Medicare, etc). Since we couldn't come to an agreement, I cut them a check for what I calculated I owed. They never cashed it, but now I have a collections account on my credit for less than what I initially tried to pay them. I don't mind paying them, but I want the collections account off my credit.

I am in Florida and got a loan with Western Sky and a week later I got notification that the loan was bought by Cash Call. They are not legal in my state to make payday loans, but I do not know if they are legal to make installment loans. Anyone knows? Thanks:confused:

I got the following email with an attachment that looks legit, other than the address is incorrect, from the "Department of Justice- United States Attorney District Florida". I work for the Department of Justice and forwarded it to our fraud department.... seems like a lot of people are getting these... so please do not pay these clowns. Contact your local FBI Office and forward the email to them.

Please help, I am paying on 1 garnishment from a creditor and now another has showed up from the exact same creditor and they are also from 2 different courts. The amounts do not match at all, but can they get another writ from another court (was not notified to appear) even if I am paying.
