Here’s the situation. We went and got a copy of our credit report from an agency that helps people get ready for home ownership. Anyhow there are some collections on my wife’s credit that I am trying to get cleaned up. I have a few questions here, so here they are.

• The first is about a student loan that she has. It got behind for whatever reason, and we are getting it caught back up. All 3 bureaus have it reported on 5/2011. TransUnion also has an older collection (reported 9/2006), for the same debt, they are the only ones reporting this info.

Here is my current PayDay Loan Situation. All of these loans we're taken out around November 2009-January 2010. I still get daily calls from the companies but just constantly ignore them. I want to get everything cleaned up and taken care of. Several of the companies I had renewed the loans and paid more then the amount borrowed in interest and fees. I need to know the best way to attack them all and get PDLs out of my life for good!

I have multiple payday loans out in NY. My entire check now is going to fees. Its to the point now that my rent, bills and food are in jeopardy. I am a single parent and would like to get my life back. So I am asking the exact procedures here to accomplish this. I know that first I need to get to the bank. I have been in the bank before and have had opposition in regards to either closing or blocking a debit. Maybe I am asking for the wrong thing from the bank rep. When asked have I spoken to the companies to stop the debits, I explained that they don't work like that.

If a person has 8 loans in default, is garnishment taken on each one at 15% of disposable income, or is there a grand total of 15% that can be garnished?

I am 180 days past due with two Citicard accts, both are about to be charged off. Citi offered 55% at 120 days and I countered with 30% and they rejected the offer. At this point they said that no offers are on the table. The representatives say that they will not approach the settlement dept unless I get a letter fro them first. I want to settle between 30 to 40% which is reasonable after 180 days? Are they playing hardball or should I just fold and take thier payment option before charge off.

I have had 10 calls from this company in the last 2 days! These people are fraudulent. The calls are routed from India. I asked them not to call me on every occasion but the operator said that there are 400 companies involved with this activity. They are ready to syphon your money away without trace. Speak to your MP if you are in the UK or any other means in your country! Of course this company will not be brought to book as they hide behind the barbed wire of outsourcing and are spread amongst the wheels of bureaucracy.

I must say that this website is very interesting. I live in NY and according to this site, payday lending is illegal in NY. I have more than 10 payday loans out. And yes, I am embarrassed, but its not like I took the money to go on vacation I needed them to pay bills and keep food on the table. Here is my experience. Some of my PDL's with all the fees and interest, I know I've paid more than the original amount given. Some others with all the fees and interest paid up are just about close to the original amount given.

I have 10 payday loans that are from all on-line lenders. I live in louisiana and they are due on 7/8/11. I do not have the funds to pay them and do not want to incur NSF fees, etc. What's the best way to handle this? Should I call the companies and see if they will work out a repayment plan with me? I'm also confused by louisiana payday loan laws and how they apply or don't to internet loans.
