I sent a letter to an original creditor about a negative listing on my credit report. I sent it over 30 days ago, and have the confirmation of delivery. I know that if within 30 days they dont validate the debt and send me proof the account was valid then it is suppose to be removed from my credit report. How do i get it removed? Do i contact the original creditor back and demand it removed, or the credit bureaus and send them the proof of my investigation and let them know it wasnt validated in 30 days?

On June 13, 2011 I received a call from a person claiming to represent GE/Money regarding a Dillards account. First of all he did not give me his name nor did he tell me what company he was working for. He only stated that his company was retained by GE/Money Dillards. I told him that I would be willing to settle but I was disputing the balance so we could not come to an agreement. Being suspicious of the call I called back and found out the person I spoke to was a Mr. Lopez from Asset Recovery Solutions and that the GE/Money account was sold to a Asset Acceptance.

Hi Everyone, I got a letter from a CA on March 3rd, 2011 and sent out a VD letter March 15th, 2011. I sent it Certified Mail through USPS and received a "signature" - more like a circle back. My guess is that they received my letter. I haven't received anything from them and phone calls stopped immediately on March 18th, 2011. I am guessing they couldn't valid my debt according to Federal Laws OR forgot about my letter?
