i have several charge cards that are over six months late. i have tried to work with some of the companies and the dollar amounts they want me to pay are outrageous. If i could afford to pay the amounts they're looking for i would not be in this situation. I have always had excellent credit and paid on time. I had something tragic happen in my life, which i have court documents and police reports for proof, and i'm not able to pay the amounts they are asking for. Now they are wanting to take me to court. What should i do? Please Help!!!

I currently live in illinois, I have three loans, I do not want to close my bank account because I share it with my mother and she is balking at changing banks, waiting to hear from the bank if there is anything we can do to just block any thing that is not from my debit card or an actual check signed by my mother.
