Law Recovery Center

14 years 9 months ago
To Whom It May Concern, I've had an outstanding debt with a company who now sent the case to a Law Recovery Center. I haven't had the money to pay and it has since accumulated finance and interest charges. I would declare bankruptcy but it is apparently a card that when I got years back, my mother co-signed, to which now they are threatening to send a summons and garnish her wages. Work does not pay much and I can't get a loan because my credit is affected. What can I do? Is there some organization who is able to buy my debt and have a low monthly fee I can pay until my situation changes?

Allied Cash Advance - AZ

Be on the look out for Allied Cash Advance in AZ. I took out a title loan early part of last year, finally was able to pay it off Nov 2010. I was told that day that the title to my car had been sent to their corporate office in Florida, they would sign the title release and notify DMV. Well guess what? I purchased a new car and used my car for a trade in, went to DMV to get a duplicate copy to find out Allied never released the lien. Several trips to the storefront later I finally got my title back.

Did not receive 1099-C forms for 2010

14 years 9 months ago
This site was extremely helpful to me during 2010 when I was able to settle 3 credit card debts (2 - Chase and 1 - BofA). I received letters during late 2010 stating that the debts were settled and would be reported to the credit bureaus and I would receive 1099-C forms. However, to date I still have not received 1099-C forms from either company. Has this happened to anyone else?? I'm not sure what I should do....without the 1099-C form. I am concerned the IRS has this info and I incur additional penalties on what taxes (if any) will be owed for the forgiven debt.

GA state tax

14 years 9 months ago
Hi everyone. I wanted to see if I can get some advise. A little over a year ago I was contact by someone from AMO claiming they were collecting for unpaid state tax from 2005. I paid my taxes in 2005 and she said to fax over documentation. I did so and then a week later I get a call from the same women claim that I still owed for 2007. I filed my 2005-2007 taxes all at the same time and had to dig through my records to see if I didn't pay. I never could find my records of paying and 2007 was a rough year so I might not have been able to pay.

ohio pdl

I have ohio pdl's. I recently hired progressive, and have payed them their $300 startup fee. I'm getting concerned because all three payday lenders insist they don't work with third parties. During their collection calls, they don't even try to get me to pay, they simply warn me that they won't negotiate with progressive and that I should work out another way. Progressive told me the collecters would say this, but I don't know who to believe. I've already vested money with progressive, should I stick with progressive or will it lead me to getting sued?
