I was served a summons from a JDB last month. I followed the rules and filed my answer with the civil court denying all in the complaint. Some for not enough information, and some for feeling that this agency didn't/hasn't proven that they have the authority to sue me. It was accepted according to the court site. I followed my case on-line and it showed that I was assigned to a judge and I have been waiting for the next step which seems for all the other cases to be "pre-trial" hearing. Yesterday it was posted on mine that I have a mediation scheduled for May. I am sort of thrown.

I am interested in getting my pay loans consolidated but I have a couple of questions regarding this, The first one is Some companies want you to close your checking account to help stop the pay day lenders from recieving their money, Do I really have to do this because I have my housepayment automatically taken out each month via ACH and along with Car Insurance and a few other things. Also My company no longer offers paperchecks it is all direct deposit, How would I get my checks?

I've had an overdrawn acct since 2006, with nsf fees and all it came to $370, the bank sent the acct to collections and today they are calling me to collect over $900 ( $500) in interest, can they sue me after 4 years, bank sent this to collections in 9/2006...what should I do, I dont work, dont have money and I'm on food stamps!

is anyone else being sued by these people?

I received a call from Freeman Webb, phone number he gave was 8558682577. He said he has to collect $1000 from me. He said I took out a payday loan from payday 1 back in dec 2010. I asked him to mail me the so called contract since I don't remember that debt. He said he can't due to he is a third party. I asked him how much the loan was, he said $500. But with interest, its $1000. I told him there was no way I can afford that. I offered to pay $50 every 2 weeks. He said he can't do that. How can I stop this?

I am caught up in the payday loan cycle. I borrowed $1,155.00 from ZIP19 last week and have a payment coming due on 04/15/11 of $1,385.77. I am scared of what will happen if I don't make this payment on 04/15/11. I want to close my account at Bank of America tomorrow. Reading this forum it seems that ZIP19 cannot legally issues payday loans in my state. Also, the maximum interest rate in Maryland is 33% APR. I have paid them $4,795.22 in interest payments so far. Are they obligated to refund the interest I have paid them? I live in the state of Maryland.

Has anyone actually received a check from any of these illegal lenders for overpayment of he loan once you let them know you are wise to them and not going to pay them?
