I received my summons by certified mail today. Attached as exhibit A is a piece of paper that appears to be copied and pasted. they call it the STATEMENT. The very top says MCM with an address than you can see where a paper was placed and copied.
Hello all,
I need some advise on what to do regarding a bunch of loans I have that have no (supposedly) gone to a collection agency.
These are all at least two years old, and I have drastically overpaid on them already. I closed my account years ago, hadn't heard from any of these companies since then, and now suddenly I'm getting calls from all of them looking for payment arrangements and threatening me with lawsuits and/or wage garnishment.
So, back in 2002 I was involved in a car accident. I have insurance and thought all my bills were paid. Turns out the Trauma center at the hospital has a separate billing. I was not aware of this. So, between my 1 yr long health battle and problems with my other debts, this went unnoticed. So, it was sold to a collection agency 5 months later to Grant & Weber.
In 2004, I was served papers that went to my parent's address that no one can remember getting.
I received a call from a company called NCW. Are they legit?!? Can anyone confirm?!? They told me, I have to contact them immediately because my case has been taken over by our county office. I'm guessing this is another scam collection agency who's requesting to pay up.
I recieved a response back from the validation letter I set the an agency. How ever it doesn't say what the charge is for just retail purchase of 10.25 and then $450 in intrest. Shouldn't they have to provide where the charge is from to validate the charges?
I'll try to keep this as clear as possible, but here's what has lead me to this site:
I'm a 30 yr old, NJ resident. I was one of many let go from my place of employment in 2009, collected UI for 8 months, before taking a job that paid less than even my UI benefits (out of fear that this is a "take what you can get" job market), but was able to keep myself afloat until this past September, when I had a serious car accident, and was out of work for over 2 months.
rec'd an offer for 80% payback for my discover at Zwicker and Associates. I am in a debt settlement program and they're taking care of my debt. Is there any other way that i can get it lowered? or any way to get my account back to discover so that they send it out to another collection company? what if my debt settlement company were to tell Zwicker that they no longer represent me, would Zwicker send that account back to Discover or they will go ahead with it?
I was sued by Midland Funding LLc back in August 2010 for an old debt that had been charged off by the original creditor. I never received anything in writing from them regarding this matter. I later find out thru checking the court records in my state (FL), that a judgement had been filed against me. My question is, shouldn't i have received something in writing that this was done? What can i do to rectify this issue?
