How does the payday loan program work?

Hello it's me again ok I got a call from this number 1-816-423-8000 apparently it is a collection agency for Everest Cash Advance, I spoke to the man that called and said I still owed $179 on the debt the loan was for $400, I asked him for a validation letter he told me that they don't send out that and that they are just there to collect on the debt, so he was getting furious so I was transferred to a lady and I asked her the samething and she pretty much said that I was crazy and that I have to go by there law and not Illinois which thats what state I live in and then she goes to threaten m

I have a different complaint than the ones I read through here so looking for some help. I found out last week by surprise that Midland Funding has a lein on the title to my house. It is from 2006 or 2007, couldn't really figure it out. I don't remember ever dealing with this company though and have had no correspondence from them I'm certain for the past two years. So, I have to contact them and get this lein taken care of. Any advice on how to go about that since they have not made any contact with me at all?

What can I do if an illegal company (QXL) keeps calling my phone for some person that I do not know? They have been calling for 2 years straight now. I keep telling them that they have the wrong number and that they are calling my personal cell phone number that I have had over 10 years.

I own a home worth $150,000.00. I only owe $39,000.00 on it. I wanted to refinance and take out $10,000.00 to pay off all of my other bills but my credit is bad. I don't qualify for home modification because I have too much equity. What can I do?

I thought my son's school loan was taken care of, and I was a co-signer. The loan was several years old. This year I was notified that my entire refund of several thousand dollars was captured by West Asset for SallieMae, and that left a balance of several more thousand dollars of interest. They wanted me to do a loan rehab, pay monthly on the remaining balance and get back in the good graces of Sallie Mae. Somehow, this doesn't sound right. I'll keep investigating, and go with my gut feeling not to make any debit card prepayments until I'm comfortable.

I recently received a letter from a law firm saying I owed them money. The letter was very short, just 3 sentences long, just saying the amount I owed and to make any payments to them. In the heading, it mentioned a company, Midland Funding, which I had never heard of, so I looked them up and saw that the company buys charged off accounts from credit card companies and then attempts to collect the money themselves. After reading this, I have a feeling this had to do with a credit card I had years ago that was charged off.
