received a bill for a phone shut off on 01-21-11. did not have verizon ant that time or for better than a year before. could they have the wrong person?

Dominion Law Assoc. is troublesome for their continual calling. They are calling my phone almost daily in pursuit of a debt owed by someone who rented my home three years ago. If I call back to complain, they cut me off. I don't even have the same phone number. Someone has just decided to harass anyone who lives at this address. I am writing to the Attorney General. Maybe he'll earn some respect back if he pursues people like Dominion Law.

I have been receiving calls from a company that claims to be CBE Group calling me from 319-242-7350, they are stating that they are trying to collect for a payday loan from back in 09. I asked for proof of where I obtained this loan, I believe that they said it was Cash into go or something like that. I wanted proof of what they were claiming and they could not give it to me, then I was placed on hold for a supervisor to explain to me how it works, I sat on hold for quite a long time and hung up. I am at work and did not have time to hold. I have not heard back from them.

I just got an email from I'm assuming a collection agency for quik cash paydayloan. They said they are debiting my bank on 2/4. Is quik cash paydayloan the same as cashnetusa? Can this collection agency actually do this?

Hello, I received a settlement letter from Northland Group saying that Lvnv Funding has assigned my account to Northland Group for collections. They are offering me a settlement of $286.32 on a balance of $1908.62. It sounds like a good deal however the debt is from 2003. What should I do about this letter as it is so old. Morally I would like to pay it off but if it is already gone from my crediti report it seems like it could do more harm than good to pay. Thanks for any help on this situation!

My auto is charged off but not reposessed and I want to turn the car in, it hasnt ran in over a year and it has been 3 years that i have not paid, I believe it is it better to turn it in, but what effect will it have on my score? I know it is bad eather way but how much will my score go down because of it as I am trying to improve my score, not make it worse, also they turned it over to collections and they are also showing bad credit on the same car.

I have recently talked to Collection Bureau of America and an amount of $57.84 was agreed on as the total that was to be taken from my bank account. When I received my statement they had taken and amount of $65.83. Before I hung up I specifically ask that the total to be billed was $ 57.84 and they said yes. When I called back they said there was an additional fee. They were to send me a breakdown of the total cost and they have not done it.

Hi everyone, I applied for a CC and got denied because of a back MD state tax lien that was on my credit report. I had paid the back tax and got the MD comptroller to mail me a letter of satisfaction saying that the amount owed had been satisfied. I then wrote a letter and sent a copy of the satisfaction letter to the big three. Now, my credit report still has the state tax lien under public records section, but this time it says PAID TAX LIEN. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the whole record removed?

I am so happy to see I'm not all alone in my worries about defaulting on my Sallie Mae loan. I wanted to leave a message in the one thread, but it was closed, so I guess I'll start my own. Sorry, I know there are a lot of threads already about defaulting on loans, but it would take me awhile to go thru them all and read peoples' comments, so here's my story: I have 3 loans with Sallie Mae, 2 of them being Signature Student-UNSUB /SALLIE MAE ED TRUST/WILMINGTON T, which I believe are private loans.

Has anyone rec'd a call from Unified PS Group? I rec'd a call today for an old balance on a payday loan. He has pulled my vehicle plate number using my drivers license and is threatening to file suit.
