I owe almost $6000 on a credit card that has been charged off and sold to another collection agency. I am going to try and get a settlement of $1500, do you think they would let me make $50 payments every month for a year until I get my next tax return? If I do infact get this deal and pay it off would that help boost my credit rating and score?

Hi everyone, My name is felix and im new to this forum. Im so glad that i found this place b/c hopefully u guys can help me like many before me. I live in NY and took out a 247 greenstreet loan for $200 and had to pay back $243. I was not able to pay back the loan in full and so far paid back $310 towards the princible and fee's and still owe money. My bank account is negative and have return check fee's and i never wrote a check, return item fee, insufficant fund fee etc.

Just found this site and have been reading a lot. I am making a very concerted effort to eliminate close to $50K in debt across 4 credit cards and a personal loan. In March, I expect to come into about $17K in cash. I have one credit card with balance of $16K and I already turned that into a fixed loan. The interest rate is at 9% and the fixed payment is $371/month. I also have a personal loan with about the same balance at 9.9%, and the monthly payment is $831. Would you suggest paying off the personal loan first and then turn around and use the $831 on the credit card?

I owe over $5000 on a credit card and havent paid it in over a year. It has been in collecitons for quite some time after being charged off. If I pay it off will that increase my credit score even though its in another collection agency?

Hi, I have been working with a debt settlement company for the past year and they have been able to reach settlents with some of the creditors but Macy's/Citicards. I called this creditor and the representative told me that there were no Settlement Offers for me because my account had a Cease and Desist Order since I had a company working to settle my debts. I was told to send them instructions to revoke the cease and desist order in order for me to speak to them. I have done so today and I hope to call them on Monday. What could I expect, are they settling currently?

How can I handle pay day loans, I'm unable to pay and keep up with everything else. I'm a bit leary of pay day debt consolidation since they want you to get a new checking account and give them the account number before they will even write up a contract.

why did you run my credit report when you weren't authorized to? What does it mean for me now?
