Midland Funding as been a thorn in my side for the past two years. First, I believe the claim to be fradulent. I do have an account with CC listed, but it is current. The account numbers are different by a few numbers. I asked Midland to send debt validation. What I got was a copy of a June 2008 monthly billing statement--which shows the "account" to be up to date. That's right...there is no "past due amount" owed. (The address is also two years old in 2008..) Now they have apparently sent this "debt" to an in-state law firm.

How is or what is paid in ful recpet looks ?

I don't know if I brought this up before but I need some advice. Working on our credit I come across a collection account for an AT&T bill.

I got new cell phone with new phone number for my child. This 800-444-8485 E.R. company keeps calling and leaving several messages per day asking for V. I called them back explaining the situation. I was asked for my name - did not give it to them - asked for my home number - did not do it -they promised to take that cell number of list. But on the end of conversation i was asked twice if I am that V. person, even when i said no. They asked me if I know this person, I said no, i got this number in store.... unbelievable.

does first source have the right to make a credit inquirey without my approval?

I spoke briefly with Steve Steinberg from GH&W. He said I owe over $1000 (because of interest) for a payday loan I took back in 2008. I asked him the name of the company and he said it's being handled by PDM. He said he couldn't talk to me when I called him back and wanted me to call yesterday. I got caught up at work and couldn't call him. Now he left me a voicemail saying that the litigators in Hillsborough County (FL) have my work information and are going to serve me papers and I better call him unless I want to go to court. Is this even possible and is PDM licensed in Florida?

I have read through a lot of the posts here and gotten some very good advice. Thank you for that. The only thing I cannot come up with is the answer to a specific question I have. My fiance lives in Florida and had a payday loan with JVC Funding which she got online and paid part of until they started taking more money than they were supposed to on dates that hadn't been agreed to. She put a block on all ACH debits from her account and paid the fees that accrued from their activity. Now a company Peachtree Law Group is calling and demanding payment for the JVC Funding account.

Can I file bankruptcy on a payday loan?
